Frogg Toggs Chilly Pad Cooling Towel

If the weather is hot, a Chilly Pad Cooling Towel is the answer! It’s ideal for any hot, strenuous activity, from team sports and lawn care to a killer workout in the gym. Just keep it nearby for a quick cool down. The Chilly Pad Cooling Towel is made from a hyper-evaporative material that retains water while remaining dry to the touch. When wet, these cooling towels begin to evaporate and cool, providing cool, soft comfort to the user. When it stops cooling, simply re-wet it in hot or cold water and wring it out, within minutes, it's cool again.

Chilly Pad

How does it work?

The Chilly Pad material is highly absorbent, (like a sponge) and can absorb up to 8 times its weight in water. Once wet, the towel produces a cooling affect with the help of simple evaporation. As long as the towel is wet, exposed to the air, and allowed to "breath"... the Chilly Pad will evaporate... and cool.

Chilly Pad

How do I care for my Chilly Pad?

Once it is removed from the plastic packaging, wet the towel thoroughly, wring out any excess water, and allow the towel to begin evaporating. If the towel becomes soiled or dirty, machine or hand wash with standard clothing detergent and rinse completely. Store the towel in its original storage tube, in a plastic bag or hang it up and store it dry.

Cooling Towel

What if my Chilly Pad starts to smell?

If the towel has been stored damp and develops mildew or an odor, add 1 tablespoon bleach to 1 gallon of warm water and allow the towel to soak for an hour or two. The towel can now be washed in the washing machine to remove any residual stains. Be sure to always wash the towel before storing.

Sports Towel

Can I put it in the refrigerator?

Yes to the refrigerator... but no for the freezer. Placing it in the freezer will cause the towel to become brittle. However, placing the towel in a plastic bag and popping it in the fridge is no problem!

Chilly Pad

How long will the Towels last?

With proper care and storage, the towels will last, and continue to provide evaporative cooling for several years.

Chilly Towel

Can I cut my Towel?

Sure! No problem. Each towel has an internal mesh reinforcing material that will allow you to cut it into any shape that fits your needs.

Cooling Towel

Can I wear it under my clothes?

We don't recommend it. In order to evaporate effectively, the towels should be allowed to breath, and be exposed to air when in use.

Sports Towel

Is the Chilly Pad recyclable?

Yes... In fact... the Organic nature of the material allows that the towel (when tattered, torn, and ready to throw away) can actually be ground up, and blended with soil to help dry soil retain moisture. It is completely inert, and will slowly decompose... and become a part of the environment.

I received this. I put it in cool water in my bathroom sink. Then opened it up. I used two squirts of hand sanitizer in the sink water as I like to clean stuff before putting on my skin. I rinsed out in cold water. Wring out so it doesn’t drip all over me. I wear these outside on my farm when feeding my critters. So far works great in this Florida heat. Keeps me from heat stroke. After about two hours I rinse in cold water again and wring out slightly. It says not to put it in very hot water (warm is ok) and not in freezer. I keep it in a baggie of water in my refrigerator so I can quickly grab it when going back outside. After a few uses, I hand wash in cool or warm water in my bathroom sink with a couple of drops of hand sanitizer or even a tiny bit of shampoo. Would recommend these Frogg Toggs cooling towels.

Absolutely keeps you cool. Keep it wet and it will keep you cool. Nothing else works like it. Do not get an off-brand, Frog Togg is the gold standard. Love it!!

It definitely helps with keeping you cooler!! I liked that it was shorter, but I think it should be about 32 inches long. It is easy to use, and easy to find because it is a very bright lemon/lime color.

This came rolled up so tight that even after soaking it for more than 30 minutes, it still did not unroll. I had to keep pulling and tugging it to open it up. I thought for sure it would tear into little pieces but it didn’t. Even when it was pulled apart, it did not want to soak up water evenly so I had to keep squeezing it and working it to get it pliable. This makes me wonder how old this product is and how long has it been sitting around. I bought this to cool off my neck which it does and it fits the way I expected. I’ve found that it does dry pretty quick so I have to keep re-wetting it. I also bought a larger size which covers my neck and shoulders but I don’t always want that much dampness on me. It was from a different brand and is much softer, pliable and stays damp for a few hours. This one will work for now but I can’t say that I would necessarily recommend it because it’s just ok.

This thing arrived so dry it was crispy. I had a hard time unrolling the towel. It was curled and stuck to it self. I thought, maybe if I soak it, that might allow for easier manipulation of the towel. I soaked it for 30 minutes and attempted to open it into a sheet. It was a mistake. I had inadvertently pellets off uneven layers because sole of it stayed stuck on the other side. I ended up tossing the thing. Waste of money. I bought the amigco cooling towels as well and that worked like a charm.

I was nervous to purchase after reading other review about it being covered in some type of glue or tearing when trying to use... you have to know how to handle these type of towels. I HIGHLY suggest after opening, place in a bowl of water for a few minutes to allow it to open up and release itself. It is a different type of material that does dry stiff, that’s what makes it what it is!! Slowly unroll it once it starts to release itself and you will not have any tears. (Only had to do this once after opening, due to it being tightly pressed for slim packaging). Towel works great. Get it wet and it stays cool and keeps you feeling cool. This is the very slim one, so it’s not soo large, but it was just a few bucks and works great for the kids.

Working on roofs in Florida, and having a medical condition that requires some incredibly hot cures, I use these cooling rags to literally save my life alot. I still have a couple more different brands to try....but out of so so many, I can say that these frogg toggs are hands down the best. They stay the coolest out of any I've tried. Swing that bad boy around, and it's good as new. After I try just a couple more kinds, I'll probably buy a ton of frogg toggs for everyone as gifts and write my findings on that review. This is totally worth the money if you need one

Yeah not overly impressed with ability to keep cool. Should of gotten a larger size. This size barely fits around neck.

The towel stuck to itself when unwrapping, causing damage (2of 3 purchased).Where it was intact, it was useless in Florida heat.Waste of money.
