The 10-inch Freud LU83R010 Thin Kerf Combination Saw Blade offers a configuration that pairs flat teeth and alternating-top-bevel teeth to ensure strong performance both when ripping and when crosscutting. Also offering TiCo high-density carbide tips, laser-cut, anti-vibration slots that eliminate the need for stabilizers, and Freud's insulating, Perma-SHIELD coating, this multi-purpose blade is built for lasting convenience.

This thin-kerf blade's 50 teeth are arranged in groups of five, each of which includes one flat-top raker tooth for fast, accurate ripping. Each flat tooth is followed by four alternating-top-bevel (ATB) teeth that are particularly well suited to crosscutting, and large gullets between the teeth ensure effective chip clearance.

This blade is designed for optimal performance when crosscutting materials that are 3/4 to 3-1/2 inches thick, or ripping materials that are 3/8 to 1-1/2 inches thick. It makes quick work of hard- and softwood, plywood, and chipboard. It can also handle laminates or tackle thinner or thicker materials. However, some loss of surface finish may occur when it is used outside its ideal range. It has a 5/8-inch arbor and produces a .091 kerf.

And because thin-kerf blades remove less material than standard carbide blades, they allow for faster feed times, and they require less horsepower to produce smooth, accurate results when cutting.

Well-Balanced, Anti-Vibration Design
This Freud blade is precision balanced and pretensioned for truer cuts under heavy loads. It also features laser-cut, anti-vibration slots that reduce chatter for a cleaner finish, longer blade life, and reduced noise while you work. And because the entire blade is laser cut from high-strength steel, you can trust that it will stay stable, flat, and true, even after prolonged use. Furthermore, this well-balanced, anti-vibration design means there's no need to use add-on stabilizers with this blade.

High-Density Carbide for Maximum Cutting Performance
This thin-kerf saw blade's 50 teeth are finished with tips made from Freud's application-specific TiCo high-density carbide "combination blend." Formulated to help the blade maintain a sharp cutting edge for longer when faced with a variety of applications, this blend includes just a little bit more high-density tungsten carbide than other TiCo blends. And it still offers the full mix of improved corrosion resistance, heat resistance, and impact resistance that you expect from TiCo.

With teeth that start out sharper and deliver improved edge retention, the blade can go longer between sharpening, and will hold up longer--saving you time and money.

Perma-SHIELD Coating Reduces Friction and Heat Buildup
Built to withstand tough use in less-than-ideal conditions, this blade is finished with Freud's red Perma-SHIELD--a non-stick coating that reduces friction and nearly eliminates the heat buildup that excess friction can cause. By providing complete thermal insulation, this coating protects your tools and your work surface. And it resists binding when the blade is used for large-volume cutting applications, which reduces blade warp.

As a lubricating feature, Perma-SHIELD allows the blade to spin freely while reducing stress on the motor and carriage of your saw. In addition, this coating helps prevent debris collection and resin or "pitch" buildup. Since gummy pitch buildup causes extra drag on the motor of your saw, less buildup is another little convenience that translates into longer tool life and longer blade life. It also means less downtime for blade cleaning, so you get jobs done faster.

This industrial saw blade is backed by Freud's limited lifetime warranty.

Needed a temporary replacement while I sent my Forrest Woodworker II Thin Kerf 48T blade to have it re-sharpened and serviced. This Freud Thin Kerf with the 50T performed just as well, if not better that my Forrest blade. Unexpectantly, my table ran quieter with this blade in it. So far I used it to rip 4/4 Pine, Maple, Cherry, Oak and Walnut. No burn marks in any of it and only some slight signs of cuts in the cherry. Also crosscut some walnut, maple and cherry and it cut through nice with no vibration. Maybe it is because it was new out of the package. We'll see how it holds up, as it will be a few weeks before I get the Forrest Blade back. All in all I am pleased with the purchase and the saw blade.

This is a very nice blade. Use a Forrest 5 in. stabilizer and set your saw up properly, you'll get nice square cuts with little splintering even on 1/4 in. maple veneer plywood. What you can't do with it: serious rip cuts of curly or hard maple. It will bog and burn the wood, and dull very quickly. If you need to do a lot of hardwood rip cuts, buy the 24T Heavy Duty Rip blade.

I have a 15A Dewalt TS and I switch out blades frequently in order to get max performance. I’m not cutting plywood or 3/4” wood very often!I got this blade to perform cross cuts on edge grain cutting boards in order to create strips for end grain cutting boards. I don’t use a sled, but utilize the saw’s fence for these cuts.Generally each crosscut is 12-13” of 2.25” of maple, walnut, cherry, as well as denser, harder woods such as afrormosia. I have made about 75 cutting boards the past several months and I’m immensely impressed with this blade. Several hundred cuts and very rarely is a cut less than perfect and needs adjustment with a hand plane. Highly recommend.

I have a small Jet tablesaw, and maybe my Forrest is dull, but it would struggle and burn wood constantly. I went ahead and got this because of the thin kerf, figured less power required might equal better cut.WOW. Difference between night and day. Ripped through 1/2 plywood with absolutely zero issue, could feed it as fast as I could safely feed. Cut was clean, no splintering, ready for glue really.Very impressed. Will probably send the Forrest in to get sharpened.

If you are looking for one blade to do it all, this is your best choice. Works great on my 2HP contractor saw. Doesn't burn wood. Cuts fast and clean. It's the best blade for your money if it's the only one you own for sure!

The blade is thin enough to save wood during cuts but also rigid enough to avoid flexing during the cut. A very versatile addition to the workshop.

I'm a hobbies wood worker.I have build a Mission style bed and armoire in the early 1990 and bout a Freud 10" x 50T Thin Kerf Combination Blade to use to cut the red oak 5/4 lumber up i used for the bed and armoire. It worked great but it was getting old and I thought i needed an 80 tooth blade so updated to a Craftsman finish blade. Any way I know retired and what to use dust collection in my shop and was getting dust everywhere with the 80 tooth blades i have. Pulled out the old Freud Blade I had it cut 60 percent (my perception) of the dust I was getting out the top in front of the blade. Did some reading on review and what other are saying about dust out the top in front of the saw blade and found the reviews for the updated blade that matched the one I Have and ordered it. It came the other day and i had to try it out. I installed and ran my first cut through it and was blown away by how quiet it runs on my Craftsman 315 table saw and amount of dust it creates is much much better. Is the cut as fine as the 80 tooth blades, almost I would say in the 96% or better range and i don't switch blades for rip cut or clean up as much saw dust. How quiet and smooth runnig the blade is I'm going to have double check i turn tthe saw off. Great blade
