Great item for getting those hard-to-reach olives out of that skinny jar. Release mechanism works well to release items.

I was a little leery of getting this since a lot of the reviews said it couldn’t grab anything. I found that if you release the plunger when you try to grab then yes, it won’t grab whatever it is. But if you control it and only release it enough to grab the item, then it’s fine. I’ve been using mine regularly to get olives out of a jar and it’s by far the best tool I’ve found for that.

The perfect solution to the problem of those darn swimming pickles that slip away from your fork! Stab your kill, extract from it's chilled and briny swimming pool, push the plunger and it either pops onto your plate or use your favorite cutting instrument to slice into sandwich friendly slices.

I had one of these for years by another manufacturer that I finally broke. I use them daily, as I am addicted to pickled hot peppers. The materials on this one are really flimsy, the metal grabber is a bit too long and the prongs are too thin so it is difficult to grab with. I can't imagine it would ever work with something the size of a pickle.

Mahlzeit!

This is a poorly made olive picker. For one, it's plastic, and lacks durability. Another problem is that it isn't good at picking up or holding onto larger olives--they often fall off again. I had to bend the tines inward, and they still didn't grab right. Also, mine just broke. The metal tines are pushed onto a moving plastic plate inside the mechanism--they aren't part of the whole assembly, so they when they fall off, like mine did, you can't just shove them back in, because they come off again. Wish I'd saved the few bucks and bought a good metal one, just like I'm doing now. Don't buy this.

Are you thinking do I really need a Fox Run Pickle Picker upper? Do you think in the morning when you have morning breath should I brush my teeth or neglect them and make my coworkers suffer! There shouldn't be one kitchen gadget guru in the world that doesn't have one of these! The ultimate in pickle pickeruperness! It's so much better than a fork & don't make me bring up those people who dive in with nasty fingers. It will pick up big pickles or those tiny little morsels of sodium packed baby midgets. Plus it's so fun to use. You will be the envy of the dinner party with your pickle picker upper. If your not - then you should pluck the eyeballs out of those in the peanut gallery that don't think this is the best invention since... since... hmmmmm.... we'll anyway if anyone who encounters this nifty creation doesn't see it's excellence you should make sure they see no more. Out with the eyes (they are like big olives so it should work!)

Seems to work okay when guests want to fish out a pickle from a jar on the table.

We went to my cousins house for Thanksgiving and she had one of these........had to get one. I bought one at Bed, Bath and Beyond for $2.99 and ordered this one anyway because I thought that the quality would be a little better. It was the exact same thing I bought at BB&B and yet I paid more for it here. I was a little disappointed, but it wasn't worth my effort to return it.
