It seems to be a standard ALICE pack.Used to make a Chainsaw carrying backpack to clear trails of fallen trees.

Pros: fits the 80%-size Spirit proton pack, if you get a mounting kit from eBay or Etsy.Cons: not very sturdy; smaller than official Alice frames; pricey for what you get.I wouldn't use this to carry anything super-heavy. It's great for cosplay though!

It's a bit weaker and thinner of a frame than I was expecting, but that keeps it mostly light. It's not exactly that comfortable but it's also not that uncomfortable. Main problem is the included straps were barely attached at all and were extremely cheap thin straps, fell off when I put it on, and luckily I ordered improved straps with much better padding and far better attachment clips when I ordered this so this could actually be considered usable. It feels like this was rushed to be put together, and I feel like this should've been half the price I paid for. However, for a back-mounted monitor project this was the only thing I could find anywhere under $100 that could work. Still feels like a bit of a ripoff given what you end up with.

To be fair I've never used a vintage Alice frame. Vintagr prices are going up and I couldn't get a used frame for as much as this one new with straps. My example arrived fast, and the frame is solid. Rivets are in there good. The straps and kidney pad are comfortable but nothing special, however you don't get Alice for special.Only thing that worries me is the quick release buckles. They're on the shoulder under a button down strap. Good idea but they feel like cheap plastic. I took the buckle off, and tied the metal loops together with 550. The snap cover now holds my compass. Some of the strap stitching looks marginal for a 40 mi hike so you might want to hit it with a sewing machine if you're doing some hardcore hiking.Apart from that everything is as advertised.

This is a nice NEW Alice pack frame. If you want authentic GI frame's or ruck sack's then you will have to but used. I have a used GI large pack with an Alice frame and of course it's beat up. Maybe gone through a war?? So with that said, my wife & I are not going to war, just hiking on trails :-0 This frame is maybe 10% lighter in my opinion than the original GI frames but... very well built. Nice that the paint wasn't pealing off like the used frame I bought. Nice brand new shoulder pads & kidney belt too. And yes it's a perfect fit for any Alice compatible pack. Here's the packs we bought from Amazon that we love: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0045J2OW4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The frame is constructed in the same dimensions as the original GI Alice frame's. Also a nice plus is the belt fit's my large 42 inch waist. Buy this & get out & hike!!!!
