Your cart is empty.The Fowler 52-526-333 Indicator Point Extension Kit includes three indicator points that have 4-48 UNF internal and external threads, are constructed of cold-rolled steel and black oxide plating, and are designed to extend the reach of standard indicator contact points. The kit includes one each of 1", 2", and 3" indicator point extenders that are designed for use with dial, electronic and test indicators and indicator points that have a 4-48 UNF threads. The extenders are made from cold-rolled steel and have a black oxide plating that provides durability and rust-resistance.
Test indicator gauges, also called gages, are precision instruments that measure short linear distances. They are commonly used for detecting deviations from tolerance limits, such as small variations in flatness or height of an inspected workpiece, and permit measurement in narrow grooves or small bores. A test indicator gauge consists of a ball-tipped contact point on a levered arm, also called a measuring insert, which pivots from a hinge point. The reading indicates the degree of angular displacement of the arm. Test indicator gauges are commonly used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. Standard test indicators measure the displacement of the arm perpendicular to the axis of the indicator. Dial and electronic indicators are very similar to test indicators, except that the axis of measurement is parallel to the axis of the indicator. Test indicators can be analog, with a mechanical dial, or electronic, with a digital display. Some electronic models transfer the data electronically to a computer for recording and potential manipulation.

Well made extensions. I was pleasantly surprised about hoe accurate they are, measuring within .0001” on the length. The only issue is that the male threaded portion is too long for my indicator, I will need to shorten them about 1/64” or so.

I'll start by saying that these will probably work fine for you. I used them on both of my Mitutoyo dial gauges with no issue. That said, there's a couple reasons I can't give full stars.First off, this listing needs updated to state these are NOT black oxide coated, but the seem like they may be stainless steel.Second, I'm not convinced these are a true Fowler product for two reasons: the surface finish does not appear to be ground like other dial indicator extensions I've used(though this doesn't affect much about the product's operability), the threads are very rough, and I have gotten several metal slivers from poor machining and deburring leaving behind slivers of metal that aren't apparent at a glance but peel up when you catch them on something (like your finger).

Not as advertised, just normal silver colour. These have 4-48 threads and a diameter of 7/32. Will NOT work with the accusize dial indicators (mine at least, part number: P900-S001) Will be returning due to that reason.

Good extensions, fit very well. As others mentioned, mine are stainless, not black oxide, which is a plus for me.

Like alphazetaomega I received a chrome colored set from a different source than Fowler. Do I care? Not particularly. These appear to be nice, the price was right and the most important part is the lengths and number of pieces which was correct.However I deducted one star because the product was not really what is described in the listing.

The kit I received was manufactured by AMPG and not black oxide plated. When I checked with AMPG, I found out that AMPG manufactures these extensions for Fowler. They aren't black oxide plated, because these extensions don't require plating -- they are stainless steel.

These three sizes with really increase the versatility of your dial gauge. I don't know why the OEM's don't provide them with the gauge in the first place but can't live without them in our race shop
