The purists may say that only a cane reed sounds proper, but for me these Forestone reeds are so convenient. They don’t need soaking, they just play. You find the mouthpiece and reed strength that works for you, and you’re all set.

These reeds offer a pretty decent cane reed substitution but are not quite ready for prime-time in my most humble opinion. They are good practice reeds since they are more resilient than cane and therefore last a bit longer. I gave 3 stars because the image in the listing makes it seem as if you were getting a case containing several reeds. The fact is that you get a single reed for the price. Had I known this up front I would have gone with Legere. Again, I like Forestone reeds as a practice reed but not enough to pay over $20 for a single reed. Misleading advertisement.

4 stars for quality. Smooth reed. Great sound. Be careful when buying. I am very disappointed. The picture shows a box filled with reeds. That is not what you get. You get only one little box with one Reed only. I could call that a mislead.

These reeds sound great and last about two months of daily practice. They are perfect as practice reeds, and are extremely responsive. I would highly recommend them to someone looking for a great reed and want a break from the stress of cane reeds.
