This keypad is not made by Genie, but I think it's a better product. It beeps when the buttons are pushed for a real positive feedback. The buttons don't have to be mashed down hard like the original Genie. I had no issue with programming it to my Genie Intellicode opener. Follow the instructions on the sheet, not the cover. The keypad cover instructions omit hitting the "learn" button on your opener. It will never work work without hitting the "learn button."

I bought this because my house garage door is a Genie product. Programming it is so easy. It's been a few cold days, and it still works very well. I'm satisfied.

Initially had difficulty getting this and four other remotes working for the same door opener (Genie ISL980A Opener). One remote would drop out. After some thought (ouch), I reset the memory on the door opener to clear out the finite number of remotes it will allow. Reprogrammed all current remotes and this keypad, and all work perfectly. I like the beeping when you press the buttons. My old keypad was having trouble with key presses, so the audible confirmation is a nice touch. Solid, well-lit keys.

I compared to the other one that cost $30. The cost of this one is much less and works better than the old one. Not sure why it's a frequently returned unless the user can't read. I would recommend this one if you have a Genie garage door opener that has Intellicode I or II. Can't comment on the other types since I don't have them

The keypad and body appear identical to a genuine Genie keypad opener. The cover is slightly different. Of course it doesn't matter how identical it appears to the genuine product, it must WORK! I have a Genie 7055 opener with battery backup. I could not determine if my opener uses Intellicode or Intellicode 2. I tried programming both and Intellicode 2 worked. Of course by "working", it works ONCE. After programming and activating the door once, it stops working. It won't work again until reprogrammed. I programmed it 5 or 6 times and pitched it. It's a piece of junk not worthy of the time and fossil fuel expended to return it. It's $15, half the price of a genuine Genie but it doesn't work. Lesson learned!

First issue was programming the keypad. I have genie intellicode II tried the method in the manual didn't work. Then I tired the method for Intellicode I this did work. Entered the code,door opened pushed the up/down key the door closed. The problem was I used the wired push button at the back of the garage to open the garage and it did open,no problem. Went to the front of the garage used the keypad pushed the up/down to close the garage it won't close. Had to put the code in and then it closed. Ok not great but can live with that. But when I used the keypad to open the garage again I didn't need the code to open it I just pushed the up/down and it opened. The same issue occurred using the remote in the vehicle.The logic reversed itself code to close, to open no code needed guess it just doesn't know if its open or closed. So if you only use the keypad to open and close your door works great. Other then that I would recommend this product.

This is a nicely built keypad for garage door openers. The instructions are simple and clear, and I love that it has audible beeps and good LED lighting as opposed to some of the original keypads. The buttons are easy to use and feel very solid, and the cover closes securely. The only issue I have is I am still having issues pairing it to my Overhead door intelligent code overhead operator. I press the learn button, and follow the steps, and I can see the operator responding as the light blinks in relation to the keypad presses, but it refuses to actually pair. It was very cold when I first tried, so once it warms up again, I will try again, so fingers crossed.

Overall, I am quite satisfied with this keypad and for me it only has one drawback that most people might overlook especially depending on where in the country you live.Pros:- OEM quality product that matches the original keypads.- Nicely lit keypad versus the old original.- Beeping with each key press.- Fit, finish and high-quality materials that feel sturdy and durable. Nice heft and robust construction.- Excellent instructions.- Included batteries!- Excellent pricing.- Amazon shipping and returns.Cons:- The top of the hinged cover does not extend over the top of the actual keypad. When is snows all the snow accumulates in the area between the cover and keypad. When you rotate the cover up it crushes the snow in the top and prevents it from opening fully until it is cleared, crushed right down or just mushed away. Almost an afterthought, but a big deal in the middle of the winter for some locations. You can work around it, but it is still should be a consideration.4.5-Stars!

I have a 3042 SilentMax 1000 3/4 hp Genie garage door opener! This replacement key pad works exactly like the original…even the screw holes line up correctly. Programming was a breeze using the original manual I kept but it also comes with a very complete manual it self! This unit actually makes sounds (beeps) which my old keypad did not. Lights up green instead of red.Still uses two AA batteries, which this unit arrived with two batteries included.Things I really liked:1. OEM key pad minus the Genie label2. Light up key pad3. The product came the next day which was great. The set up took about 5 min and it was an identical replacement for my Genie opener.Half the price of the Genie pad and it work perfect so far.
