Sound does appear to be more massive (unplugged).

There's not much to say here. It's exactly what it claims to be. It's a big honkin' chonker of a sustain block. Gave my Strandberg a more rounded, less trebly tone when unplugged than the aluminum block it had before. Sustained exactly the same, but made the trem feel a lot better in use, with smoother action and a faster return to zero.I ended up returning it because it poked out of the bottom of the cavity a bit, but that's not the fault of the product in any way; it just goes to show that you shouldn't believe everything you read on Reddit. Easy 5-star block, just don't put it in a Strandberg if you care about your block being recessed.

I installed this block on a fairly new guitar with a Floyd Rose 1000 trem. I tend to change all of my trem blocks to brass, and it almost always improves the guitar in some way.Being familiar with the Floyd, this was not a difficult modification. There are plenty of YouTube videos demonstrating this process. You may want to view these before you decide to make this purchase.Be advised: you WILL need to do a setup after all the installation is complete! How did this affect my guitar? The individual notes bloom and ring out with more clarity. The sustain is improved. Chords ring far longer. What’s not to like?Plus, it’s an Original Floyd Rose part. Fit and finish are as expected - impeccable.(Note: you may want to order stainless screws to go with this. Brass + steel will corrode, making a mess of things! A tiny drop of blue Loctite will help keep things together also.)

I have Floyd Rose equipped guitar and a PRS Tremonti. Both guitars have similar output pickups, yet the former was quite shrill and the actual output was noticably less, so I bought this upgrade, hoping to solve the problem. This hunk of brass will noticably round off the highs and bring out the mids/lower mids. I use a Marshall JCM 800, which is quite a trebly amp and I noticed an output increase as well, so I don't have to have the gain as high. It won't make a Floyd equipped guitar sound like a Les Paul, but the tonal upgrade is easily one of the best £30 I've ever spent.

Ik monteer deze messing blokken op al mijn gitaren met Floyd. Relatief goedkope upgrade met veel impact: meer sustain, wat sprankelender geluid bij cleans en meer ‘bite’ onder high gain. Altijd doen.

I bought it for my MIJ Jackson Dinky. It’s made a positive difference in my tone and sustain. I wish I had made this upgrade years ago! Look up installation instructions on YouTube.

IMO there's nothing to dislike about this brass block. It's well finished, it was relatively easy to mount to the tremolo system, it looks great and it's a definite upgrade over the cheap zinc block put on my Jackson Licensed Floyd Rose tremolo system. It give a Floyd Rose guitar more substain, a brighter warmer resonance and a great feel when using the tremolo system.Update I just recently bought a OFR and again it fit perfectly without issue. For ease of install and the reasonable price it IMO is a worthwhile investment.

I had heard some people say that a tone block makes no difference, and I’d heard others say it did. I didn’t know who to believe, so I bought one of these to see for myself. It made a big difference on my Ibanez Jen Jr Sp!It gave my tone more bite. More sustain. More chunk. And, it’s also more responsive and sounds fuller.I don’t know what happened to those others when they installed one. For me though, I’ve been playing guitar for 30+ years, I wish I had known about this all along! As far as the quality, service, and price? I’d honestly have to give them an A in all the above.I emailed them, they responded. I installed it myself pretty easily. And, I searched around for this a lot before buying. There are a lot if other companies that offer similar products, and all of them were more expensive. Why pay “some other company” more, for a a block got your FR Trem, when you can get it cheaper from Floyd Rose!?If you haven’t used one before, and you’re wondering if they’re worth it. IT DOES!ThanksPS:A tip to anyone that’s going to install this themselves: When taking the saddles off, keep track of which string each saddle came from, and make sure to put them all back in the right place. Some tremolos have compensated saddles, so putting the high E saddle on the D string, for example, would cause a ton of fret buzz. Ask me how I know!

I ordered this upgraded block to replace the cheapo zinc block that came with the EVH FR special on my EVH Wolfgang standard. The 37mm length is correct for this guitar and it is a solid upgrade directly from FR. I really feel like it helped give the sustain on the guitar some oomph. Only issue now is that since this block is much thicker than the original I cannot dive the tremolo very far and I will eventually have to do some routing of the tremolo cavity to increase the travel. That is an issue with the design of this particular guitar, but something you should keep in mind before moving to a fat block design.

I put this in an old '94 Made in Japan Jackson Concept. These guitars were only made for a couple years and were somewhere in between the old MIJ Professional line and the Performer series in terms of quality. It's a great guitar but the trem block was ultra cheap pot metal that killed sustain BIG TIME. I always though the lack of sustain was due entirely to lower-quality basswood stock in the body (and some of it may be), but after installing this the vibration really resonates through the body for a good while (much more like a better-quality alder or poplar model) and sustain when plugged in is noticeably improved. I only wish they'd have included brass screws since they would presumably transfer vibration better to the block than the stock screws. I will probably try to source some appropriate brass machine screws at a later date (Fastenal, perhaps?).$30 for a small block of brass may be a little steep, but it is Made in Germany and the improvement in playability is well-worth the money spent.
