Worked ok for a bit, probably about 10 rides. Then my saddle shifted unexplainably while riding and was tilted up and unusable for the rest of the ride. Everything was tight upon later inspection. Readjusted and tried to tighten it more to ensure it wouldn't do that again. Then the cheap bolt snapped. Busted junk.

I just installed this on my bicycle. Manufacturing is really sloppy. One of the outside bracket pieces is significantly bigger and differently shaped than the other. Other than that, it seems solid and the addition of lock nuts is a nice touch I guess. We'll see how it holds up once I've put some miles on it. I didn't see any Velo branding on the item or with the item, so I have to also wonder about the truth of the 'Authentic Velo' claim in the item title here on Amazon.Update: After about a year, this unit started to strip out like the one it replaced. I replaced my seat post with a nicer one and a better type of seat mount. I would never choose to go back to this type of mount.
