I’m not sure how or why but for some reason our headboard smells a little fishy. I’ve already sprayed it down with fabric sanitizer, and regular Lysol sanitizer, but I can’t quite shake the odor. I don’t know if this is as a result of some sort of fabric starch in the assembly process or if this is because of some sort of of shipping and transport spillage, but our headboard stinks.

Easy assembly -great price problem is it smells and still smells-chemical smell. Have used frebreeze-air freshener doesn’t help.

I had high hopes for this headboard, but the smell is unbearable. Right out of the box, it smelled like a mix of rotten fish, harsh chemicals, and something dead. I tried airing it out for days, hoping the smell would go away, but it hasn't improved at all. The odor is so strong that I can't even keep it in the bedroom, let alone sleep near it. It's really disappointing because the design and look are great, but the smell is a dealbreaker. I wouldn't recommend this product unless you want to deal with an awful, lingering odor.

Horrible smell of fish, yes the fabric smells like fish and there is not enough stuffing and the fabric is crumpled. I'm returning the item, it's the first time I've returned to Amazon and everything has been fine. I received my refund the same day.

There was only a 30% chance that the fabric was going to smell like fish, cat pee, or smell like hell. There was only a 30% chance (based on reviews) that I would be dragging this wreaking, stinking headboard to the curb, set it on fire, salt the earth so that it may never grow again.I took my chances and won this lottery. It’s a good value-for-price headboard. Light gray linen is nice in appearance. Is easy to assemble. The package doesn’t include screws to mount to the frame. The headboard is low enough profile that you can just work it onto the wall with your own crafting and solution.Go for it! Live dangerously and take the risk.

HEADBOARD LOOKS BEAUTIFUL BUT THE SMELL OF DEAD FISH OR CHEMICALS FROM THE FABRIC IS HORRENDOUS.OPENING THE DOOR OR PUTTING ON THE CEILING FAN OR SPRAYING WITH A FABRIC SPRAY DOESN'T REMOVE THE ODOR.DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I'VE REQUESTED A REFUND BUT NOW NEED SOMEONE TO HELP ME REMOVE THE HEADBOARD AND THROW IT "OUT"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!DISGUSTING - I SHOULD HAVE READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE BUYING.

It smells very bad straight out of the box it is very strong! The headboard itself is very pretty very easy to put together, but the smell is not fading and now the whole room smells will be returning it
