I thought it might discuss more about the purpose, functionality, techniques to building tables and chairs. Joinery etc. its just detailed plans for building a few types of tables, a bench and a chair.

it's avey nice book, well made. But the projects are out of date, they were nice 30 years ago. there ciuld be a few more project in the book too. I will use it for the techniques.

This book fills some gaps on chair making and tables. This book along with several other publication make it possible to create lasting furniture and build on it to make unique furniture.

This book was exactly what I was looking for. Plenty illustrations that were simple to follow. I enjoyed this book very much. I can actually use this book to create tables and chairs.

A quality book from Fine Woodworking. There are a range of really nice designs and projects in this book. The instructions are not completely thorough, so this book is probably not for the beginner, you definitely need a certain amount of knowledge to complete the projects as described, but combined with other woodworking books, this is a great addition to my collection.
