I have tried many synthetics and these work the best for me. Primary instrument is tenor sax but also play alto and soprano. My main tenor set up is a Wanne Shiva 9 on my King S-20. But I also use this reed on my Martin Comm III Tenor with a Phil Barone Hard Rubber Tradional Contemporary 9 "For something completely different." hahahaVery handy when doubling. I play keys with blues rock bands and often have to grab my sax on the fly for a solo. These reeds never fail.

Great, durable reed. Needs no pre-wetting and plays great. Excellent tone quality. I'm still playing the first one I purchased without any drop in quality.

I love these Fibracell reeds. I have them for my alto as well as my soprano. They play just as well as the cane reeds. The tone is great and they are consistent. I have asthma and the cane reeds are too difficult to play on anymore. I'm so glad i found these. Keeps me playing at age 71.

I’ve been using fibracell reeds for over five years now. For me, they are the closest to natural reeds in responsiveness and tone.

After playing one gig on this, I came back to my computer and ordered a stronger reed (4.0, I think), and that has worked MUCH better. The 2.5 just closed up and didn't respond like I need a reed to respond. However, I LOVE the Fibracell reed, and will probably never play on anything else again. If I were a totally "concert" player (like for a living), I guess I would put up with the reed soaking and all the rest that goes with a "real" reed. I'm not, though, and just don't have the patience for all of that mess. I can't STAND the response of those cheap plastic reeds, but this reed is wonderful! The fact that I can just pick up my horn after 30' or more of not playing it, and not have to worry about it being too dry to play right -- it's priceless. (Well, almost.)
