This track is long enough to rip an eight foot piece of wood. What makes it invaluable to me is that I can skip the jointer, and rip a crooked board very quickly. This long track is quite expensive, but in this application it saves a great deal of time when processing wood from a saw mill.

Way too expensive, but it is accurate and very handy for some applications.

This is essential for breaking down 4x8 sheets of ply or other materials. The packaging was extremely good, I was worried about shipment but it arrived in a thick cardboard sarcophagus lined with 2x3 stock so no twisting or bending could occur. The box is great for storage as well.

Bought this as i cut large sheets regularly and have 2 1400mm guides that i need to join. Thought this was the answer. When i first cut i noticed a deflection of about 3mm in the middle looking down the rail you can see it clearly. Too difficult to send back but extremely disappointed as festool are supposed to be bang on . I now use it to rough cut then use the table saw to correct the 3mm curve . Not sure if it was mine or if they are all slightly bent?

Track is great, but very costly IMO. I was not about to be joining track sections. Glad this is ready when I am.

This is essential if you are going to break down sheet goods on the Festool Track Saw. I can accurately cut a 2cm strip off of a 8' or 240cm sheet of plywood with very good accuracy. Of course this must be used in conjunction with the Festool Parallel Guides and neither component is cheap, but if you are going this route because trying to guide a large sheet of plywood through a small table saw didn't produce "square" results, this system works. I can't say enough about Festool. Their systems are expensive, but the tools deliver consistent, accurate results. The package arrived by freight and although the container was banged up it arrived in one piece with no damage.

Mine arrived via a special carrier (CEVA) in a wood and Masonite box. I was advised in advance about a delivery time and had an easy option to change it if I wished. THE DELIVERY WAS RIGHT ON TIME - AND I GOT A CALL 20 MINUTES AHEAD.The rail itself is great - but as others have noted the price is a bit excessive.

It works! This is a limited use product, but when you really need to get the accuracy that Festool provides and the cut needs to extend beyond the supplied 55 inch guide that comes with most products, this hits the spot. You do need to know it's size makes it something that you have fun storing or worse transporting. I'm finding that I use it less than I thought I would. But the first time you have to get a dead on cut that is longer than the high 40 inch range, this is essential. I also have to complement the folks that designed the shipping container. It actually survived the shipping process and that seems to be inversely proportional to the size of the object being shipped. Yes, the outside had dings and the staples holding on the cover were close to falling off (someone appeared to luckily use a significant amount of heavy duty shipping tape to keep it on), but the rail arrived without a scratch.

I haven't used the long guide rail yet, but it seems to have arrived fine. I'm posting this review only because of the stink that's been raised concerning the shipping. Since the length (108") is oversize, it doesn't ship UPS, but is shipped by an independent carrier instead. It comes in a nice wood/masonite box that would seem to be plenty strong. But the masonite had almost entirely pulled through the staples on one side of the box, leaving just the staples at the end holding that side on. About half the staples on the other side had pulled through. It would have taken very little more to bust the box open, dropping the rail out. Nevertheless, the guide rail inside the box was perfectly straight and ding-free. It was a close call, but in my case, at least, the gamble paid off.Now about the rail. Although I haven't had time to use it yet, I've seen them in action and I'm very confident that it'll allow perfectly (i.e., PERFECTLY) straight and precise cuts on the long dimension of a 4x8 sheet of plywood. Bravo Festool! Great design and implementation.
