They well made with as of fit over a true 3.5”x3.5” post with ease…. But it wasn’t the look I was going for as they a very low profile, so I returned them.

Leave the 4x4 post sleeve longer than wood inside, cut out the tabs on the inside of post sleeve and voila, the covers fit snuggly inside of post, no screws needed. It finished off the post nicely. The colour is not true white, but it matches. Different polymer mix I guess. The textured top is good with stair posts grip. It was half the price of others, and they look good. I saved money there because I had lots to buy for a covered deck. Dark photos are because of the shade from the roof.

We usually have our LED post lights on during the summer and pop them off for winter storage. Rather than leave the hollow posts exposed, we decided to look for some post caps. These came up in the search and it was nice to see they fit a 3.5" post as everything else seems to fit 4" only making it way too loose.These fit perfectly over the vinyl posts. The color is almost bang on and it looks like it was made to go with the railings. Some people don't like the textured finish because they say it will hold dirt. That doesn't bother us much as I will pop them off in the spring anyways. Easy to toss in a bucket and clean up if they do get dirty.The plastic is nice and thick and I didn't need to put any screws. Some fit more snugly than other but that is due to my posts. I could put a screw in them but I don't think it's necessary in our case.
