I purchased this in December as a Christmas gift to my wife because that’s what she was asking for and within a week of use the cooling fan in the back of the machine started making a loud grinding sound so I requested a replacement the replacement came and everything seemed to work Perfectly fine. I said it all up and the very first day of use had issues on the backside, there is two switches one for the cooling and one for the heater and my wife is blind so I have the heater side turned off just for safety precautions. The very first time she used it she used the cold side and the water came out scolding hot even with the heater switch turned off. I turned on bolt switches and attempted to use bolt sides, and bolt. Hot and cold came out hot to the point where I left burns on my wife’s hand. I contacted the manufacturer and for the last three weeks I’ve received zero response.

We bought this so we could stop buying plastic throwaway water bottles at the store. And we wanted one that was easy to disassemble when it needed to be cleaned. This unit satisfied both of those requirements, and it works great. The only issue I have is I wish it could detect when the bottle was empty and shut itself off.... It doesn't do that, but now when it gets low, I just tape a note to it and shut it off until a new bottle is put on, because I don't want to burn out the heating element or the cooling compressor. And, it works great.

I expected this water cooler to last longer than a year. The hot side is still hot, but the cold side dispenses warmer than room temperature water. I was going to just get another to replace it but after reading the reviews I will look for a different brand this time. Shame on Farberware. I will see if I have better luck with an unknown brand.

I love the small size and it doesn't take up much space on the counter. My only beef is that it doesn't make the water super-cold, as I was hoping. For that, I just add a few pieces of ice. But mainly, it keeps me from constantly using individual plastic bottles.

The cold water reservoir is too small you can’t get 2 glasses of water out of it. Then you have to wait for the machine to cool down the water for the next glass.

I bought this cooler at the end of September 2022; by January 2023 (less than 4 months) it no longer cooled. It still dispenses water but at warmer than room temperature regardless if cool is on, heat is on, unit is off, or even unplugged.Contacted seller see response:Thank you for contacting Home Lot. I liked the machine a lot when I first got it. Hot water was hot, but then stopped working after a while. Several months later water started leaking out the sides and I threw it away.

This works out well if you're tight on space. It's easy to use, and the childproofing for the hot water spigot is much better than many of the other dispensers I've seen/used.Pros:(1) Small, and can easily sit on a countertop. Although, with the bottle on top, it may be too large to sit underneath cabinetry.(2) Very hot water. This is some of the hottest water I've ever had from a dispenser.(3) Lightweight. It is mostly plastic, so it's not heavy at all. Most of the weight will likely be from the bottle of water, and not the dispenser.(4) Switches for turning on/off both hot water and cold (has individual switches for both); great for if you have to leave for holiday.Cons:(1) Cold water doesn't get very cold. The cold water function is almost always running. The reservoir must not be very large, or very well insulated, since it always seems to be making cold water. When you do use it, I'd say it's slightly less chilled than what you'd get out of your standard refrigerator door water dispenser (for those who have used them in to past, just as a comparison).(2) Pressure release doesn't work that well. My 5 gallon bottles all look like they're being crushed, since the dispenser doesn't replace the water used with air very well. I'm afraid that my bottles will becomed weakened, since it's putting creases on the bottles at locations near the handle.I'll be sure to update at intervals so other consumers can see more.Edit: after about 6 months of using the dispenser, it stopped functioning. I should note that I was living in Italy at the time, buy I had a transformer that would transfer the Italian current, voltage (and I'm assuming Hz) to the American standards; inefficiency with the transformer may have overwhelmed the circuitry.
