Perfect extension. Fits under garage door without causing it to be adjusted, or cutting a hole in siding. Easy to handle and wind up. Well made.

After getting a quote for $3400 to install a 240 volt outlet in my garage, I decided to look for an alternative option for charging my Tesla using an existing outlet upstairs.I connected my Mobile Connector using the Nema 14-50 plug, to a dryer splitter. This works perfectly!!My daily commute is 15 miles round trip and I can get back to 80% in 45 minutes compared to 7 hours using a 120 volt outlet.I did not feel any heat coming from the cord.I also used my phone to unlock the charge port to insert and remove the plug without any problems.

I purchased this and expected to be able to use just like my Tesla charger cable…one main difference is there is no button to unlock the charge port!I just re-read description and they clearly state this: “Please unlock the charge port either from the screen or by opening you tesla app.”

I got the 50A - 40 feet version for the times a level 2 charger is ICEed or blocked by a non-charging EV. Worked well the couple of times I needed it so far. Works well with the J1772 adapter too. You may have to plug in the car end first, and then the charger cable end to get it to work, but at home I tested it both ways and it worked fine. There was maybe 1-2 volts lost with this; which is pretty good for a 40ft long cable actually; but obviously only use it if you need it since it does add to your loses. It is heavy but manageable. Come with a very nice zip up carrying case which are not in any of the pictures surprisingly. The car end will be lock to your car if the doors or locked, but people can disconnect the the other end while it's charging. If you do need to use your J1772 adapter ($50 from Tesla), then it could be stolen if you use this, but at lease they cannot steel the $200+ extension cable locked to the car (unless they are cutting cables for the copper). Very glad I got this, I keep it in the sub trunk.

I didn’t want to continue to have to back in to charge my car. I also didn’t want to have replace my charger for one with a longer charge cable. This extension cable is the answer.Charges at the same rate. Button works to stop charging. The button doesn’t open the port. I can live with a quick tap on the port to open it.
