Item was a Xmas present for my son, was exactly as described. Pretty cool little gadget, I only wish that Ida known you could have upgraded the globe with internal lighting and I guess you can also get it motorized as well if I'm not mistaken, but not really a big deal. Thanks guys!

I was enjoying geography with my 4-year-old grandson during a week of impromptu homeschooling due to a hurricane. I searched for a globe to teach him with. This was an impulse purchase. It's really too small to use for instruction, especially for a young child, but the WOW factor made it irresistible.Sure enough, he was enchanted by the "magic" of making the globe "float" with the electric magnet inside the neat-looking arc stand. It comes with a little plastic spacer to help you place it the right distance from the magnet. That spacer is quite helpful, as without it you can easily get frustrated trying to place the globe magnetic-pole-up and directly below the magnet at the exact right distance. With a few tries my grandson was able to get the hang of it, and he enjoyed the sense of mastery of demonstrating it to his mom and grandpa.My only complaint about this order is that I selected a blue globe and I got a black one (i.e., the oceans are black instead of blue). I'd rather have a blue one, but the black looks attractive enough on our sideboard and it didn't diminish the value or the joy the child got.

While clearly describing most countries, countries such as Taiwan (Republic of China, est 1912) was intentionally renamed "Taiwan Dao", which is a term never heard from the rest of the world, but also politically motivated by the government of the manufacturer (PRC) implying that the "island" ("dao") is "not" a sovereign/independent country (which is actually IS) and is part of the "People's Republic of China" which is also clearly labeled on the item. As I understand the political tensions going on and respect each government's own point of view--a product such as a world globe should be based on INTERNATIONAL standards and a clear representation of facts and accuracy.Aside from the propaganda-based intents of the product, it would otherwise be a pretty cool gift. I would never give this as a gift to others, however, due to its inaccuracy and propaganda-based intentions though, which is why it is being returned.

I had it for 2 days now and it's works very well.Overall, I am very pleased with it so far.Mine is hyper sensitive to movement, even shaking my leg while I'm in my chair will cause the globe to wobble and stick to the top of the lamp.Turns out that it would have got here a lot earlier but the delivery company were entirely to blame, they got my address wrong twice! So, if it weren't for the delivery company the globe would have gotten here two days early!!I really like it. I would buy again, but the only issue is that I thought I'd chosen the Asian plug but ended up getting the US Plug.

I have another one in my classroom and the kids love it. The only problem with this one is that my students said it's too easy to get to float and they like a harder challenge.

This is a really nice product. I find myself just watching as it turns around. Gives off a nice light. The instructions are straight forward as to how to get it work. Bought it for my teenage son who now has it in his room. Very pleased with it.
