I have seen this product used by doll modelers. The results they achieved were quite remarkable, so I had to give this product a go. I must say I was quite impressed at how well it works! The kit comes with the two parts epoxy, two sets of disposable gloves, a putty stick, and (2 shown-I received one) Sanding disks, everything you need to quick start your project.Working with the product is fairly straight forward. I used a Scale to measure each part before I began mixing. Right out of the jar, the product was a bit stiff and hard to mix. This issue is easily solved by giving the product a quick Zap in the microwave! When not mixed, the product softens right up! If you are not in a hurry, you can also use HOT WATER to soften the material.I found that the heated product has a bit of a diminished working time. The batch I mad right from the Jar, was workable for about 25 min before it Kicked, where as the heated product Kicked in just over 15 min. The workable cure time is around 16 hours, but a full 24 will provide the best result.I was able to texture, shape, sand and grind the product with ease. These jars may seem quite small, but they actually produce quit a large quantity of mixed product.

I’ve had a fair amount of experience with various epoxies—some for household repairs, some for oddball art projects, and some for panic-fueled late-night attempts to fix what I just broke trying to fix something else. This particular epoxy putty falls squarely in the “good enough” camp. It’s serviceable, easy to work with, and hardens up reliably. But if you’re expecting it to bond like a welder’s torch or patch a pressure pipe for eternity, you might want to temper those expectations just a little. What I appreciate about this product is its simplicity. You get two tubs, both filled to the top—no frustrating air pockets in oversized containers here—and the 1:1 mix ratio means you’re not playing chemist in the garage. It kneads together well (just give it a bit of elbow grease), and it turns a uniform black that sets with a decent surface hardness. It’s not the most malleable out of the gate—think modeling clay that could use a little moisture—but once it’s blended, it behaves well enough to patch holes, fill cracks, or sculpt something simple. That said, it's more of a "gap filler" than a strong adhesive. My Rubric✅ Good = Qualifies as a selling point➖ So-So = Not great, but also nothing resembling a showstopper❌ Not Good = Could be a showstopperMy star ratings, which tend to skew upward due to limitations in the 5-star system, are further elaborated in a decimalized scoring at the end of the review. Finally, although some items have been freely offered via the Vine system, I refuse to sell out and will never allow a vendor to influence my scoring through any means other than the quality of the product, both on its own and in relation to the current pricing at the time of my review. I value the efforts of other honest reviewers and wish nothing more than to pay their efforts forward in hopes of faithfully guiding others to informed decisions. The Good✅ Clear, simple directions with extras like gloves and sandpaper included✅ Full-sized tubs—generous amount of product for the price✅ Easy 1:1 mix ratio with consistent texture and color once combined✅ Versatile: fills voids, sticks decently, can be sculpted or molded✅ Cures fairly quickly and can be sanded or painted once dryThe So-So➖ A bit stiff out of the container—takes some kneading to soften➖ Doesn't stick especially well to smooth surfaces during application➖ Not particularly high strength—best for light-duty fixes or shaping projectsThe Not-Good❌ None observed—just know going in this isn’t a heavy-duty industrial epoxy, and you'll be fineThe DetailsThis is a good “general purpose” epoxy putty, particularly if you’ve got a leaky pool fitting, a cracked tile edge, or a little sculpting project in mind. I wouldn’t count on it to hold weight or keep something watertight under pressure, but it does dry solid and can be sanded, drilled, and painted like most epoxies. That’s more than enough for 90% of what I use epoxy for anyway. The fact that it’s not overly sticky during application is both a curse and a blessing—it’s cleaner to work with, but sometimes it’ll fall right off a vertical surface unless you press and hold for a moment. It's also nice that the kit includes gloves and a little tool, so you don’t have to go digging through your toolbox (or stealing a spoon from the kitchen—ask me how I know). Overall, it’s handy stuff to keep around for patch jobs or creative bits and bobs, so long as you’re not expecting it to replace bolts and welding rods.Final Rating: 4.1/5(A useful, forgiving epoxy putty for small fixes or DIY sculpting, but it’s not going to win any strongman competitions.)

It's probably OK for modeling but not for repair of existing wood. It won't stick. It hardens but will come out of hole or crack after it sets. Bondo or the like is far better.

The instructions read 30 sec each putty in the microwave, but that was too hot! I have a 700 watt oven. I could not manipulate it with my hands for a good bit, and I was wearing better nitrile gloves that I have at home. I wanted to fix something made of metal, and while it did stick to the metal, it did not harden as hard as I thought it would after 24 hrs. Also on the pictures it appears light colored. This substance when cured is black.

Strong! I used this to seal a crack in a fountain that had cracked on the bottom after being stored for the winter. The two parts get combined together and make a stiff putty. It's stiff when you first open the container so instructions say before you begin to microwave for 30 seconds or stick in hot water to soften. You mix these two putty's, one is black and one is white enough to know that's it's gray throughout. If you see any black or white, keep kneading it. You can keep adding drops of water to keep it maneuverable. I couldn't see exactly where the crack was under some lifted paint in the bowl of the fountain so I first I removed as much of the paint as possible then smeared a thin layer over the entire area. It will start to harden and stiffen pretty quickly (you have maybe up to two minutes) and then it's too hard to mold it, so work fast and/or have some tools nearby if you needs to smooth it out. I mixed it on a piece of waxed paper with latex gloves right on my kitchen counter. I could smell it, but it wasn't intense in the slightest. It would stick to the gloves so I had a bowl of water next to me and I'd dunk my hand (gloved) in to keep it wet then return to work it. I had plans to work on three things: first priority was the fountain crack, next was a slat in an outdoor wood chair seat that had cracked and needed to be joined again, and finally, some stripped glassy knobs that wobbled and turned and were not fastened. It worked A+ on the fountain, the entire reason I got this product. For the wooden chair slat, it was too thick to join the two pieces in those intricate jagged patterns that it cracked, so I'll have to resort to super glue for that. However, I did have some stuck on the piece that had hardened, so I wanted to see if it could be sanded, and yes, sanding worked. Doing by hand is fine for a little thin pieces, but mine was a bit of a chunk so I used my orbital sander and that did the trick. (So, you CAN sand it, so that experiment was still worth it to find out. Last, I had two dime size balls of product left and I used a popsicle stick to jam it in the area where the stripped screw was. Ha! That worked great! No more wiggle on those knobs! The black kind of was hidden so I didn't need to do any touch up paint around it, but you could prime and paint this putty easily for touch up stuff like that.
