Why I purchased: I am a hammock sleeper while backpacking and I wanted a means to have my gear be off of the ground during the night to prevent small critters and rain water from getting into my gear. This is essentially a hammock for all of your backpacking gear.Pros:Small and compact- This item compacts to the size a little larger than a baseball. Night the lightest solution, but was durable and easy to manage.Attachment- Easy to attach to any ENO hammock. This will attach to other hammocks, although it was design specifically for the ENO.Volume- More than adequate to store a 60 liter backpack, long with boots. Made reaching for items in the night a lot easier (water bottle, headlamp, boots etc).Cons:Not really any to speak up. It does what it was designed to do, keep your gear off of the ground and dry during the night.Side Note: It does take some getting used to with getting the tension right in the under sling. I had a few issues with getting the proper hang as the gear was touching my backside while laying in the hammock, but that was operator error and was fixed through a few iterations. It will take a time or two before you get the hang of it (pun intended).Bottom Line: I would recommend this item and I would repurchase again. Gear did not fall out of the gear sling, and suspended all of my gear off of the ground.

I’m going to share a secret with you that will make this product much more useful than it is as portrayed in the pictures. This product is portrayed as a small hammock to go underneath a traditional hammock. And any experienced hammock user knows, this is flat-out impossible. (Good luck getting a strap around a tree high enough to get the correct strap angle and get the hammock high enough for this product.) Properly hung, a hammock will allow the user to sleep in the hammock and sit in the hammock. That wouldn’t leave enough room underneath for this product. However, I’ve discovered that there is another way to use this product that is even more effective than the way it is described by the manufacturer! Instead of slinging it underneath the hammock, simply sling it slightly lower than, and to the SIDE of, whichever side you exit the hammock. This keeps it above the ground, yet lets you open the main hammock and reach down and easily rummage through the items in the sling. The only drawback to this product is that the sling design means no real organization is possible; pretty much everything sits in a heap inside this gear hammock. But if your items are stored in small bags or stuff sacks, a significant amount of organization and utility is possible. It’s incredibly annoying that the manufacturer has installed the line locks backwards on this product, which leaves any in experienced user baffled as to how to restring the line locks so they can actually work. I’m sure this has mystified and dismayed many users. All I can say about that is to try this product before you go out into the field, and YouTube is your friend. Run the lines through the line locks the correct way, and they work perfectly.

I like neat little things like this, which is why I bought it, but it is not the greatest thing for your money. At the current $29.99 it is somewhat outrageous, but if you have money to blow and want to look cool this is the product for you. I don't mean to knock down this product, because I actually do like it, but common......I could just buy a crappy hammock for cheaper that would even hold more stuff. It's all about the cool factor, because it really makes me look like I know what I'm doing ;)

Great product. I'm an eno snob with a few off-brand components to my rig but I like buying from them because I know that I am going to get a quality product every time and that's important when you shop online rather than going to a brick and mortar shop. It is what it is: a sling to put all your gear. Plenty of cord to make it comfortably hang under your hammock. The secret to these is to make your sling hang lower beneath your head than it is to your feet. That way, the cord isn't rubbing on the hammock being annoying while you're trying to relax. I attached 2 cheap carabiners to each line so I just clip them to my straps under my hammock and it's ready to go.

Bought this as a fathers day gift for my husband to use with his ENO hammock. He tried it out for the first time that same weekend on a comping trip with the kids. He absolutely loves it. He could not say enough about how great it was. He loved having his things off the ground and being able to reach them while in the hammock. He especially raved about being able to place his shoes in there for easy access to get them on before getting all the way out of the hammock. He loves this product!

Haven't used it camping yet, but hooked it up in its own in the backyard and had my daughter lay in it as her own small hammock. Great quality material. It's inly rated 50lbs I believe but it either had to do with the rope or the strap not the hammock quality.

The gear sling works exactly as advertised and kept my shoes and other stuff (that I didn't have hanging in my dry bags) off the ground, but more importantly easily accessible from the hammock. Just reach down to store it or to grab it. It took a couple of experiences with it to hang it (and the hammock) at the right height. If you're using it with the Eno bug net, install it inside the net after you have the net set up!
