Purchased for my shop. The remote feature was important as my shop height is 22’. This winch works as a hoist just fine. I attached a chain hoist to the cable so I could do fine control over hoisting heavier items.

Are you kidding!?! This is exactly what I needed and didn’t know it. The installation was a breeze with the included hardware. I do recommend at least 2 people work together on the installation if possible. The hoist is great for my needs in my home garage. I can lift the mower up to work under the deck with safety. It has a powerful 550-watt motor that also protect itself from overheating with an internal fan. The remote smart control is very handy but you also have the wired control as well. I cannot think of any garage or tool shed that having a mini electric hoist would be too much. Protect your back, use the hoist to do the lifting. Work smarter not harder.
