The photos make it hard to tell what the material is going to feel like when you get it, but is a milled piece of plastic material. We opted to paint ours the same color as the house and love the way it looks. The only disappointing aspect is that there is no screening on the vent slots, so it opens the home up to insects getting in the attic like flying termites. I glued insect screen to the back of it once installed and would recommend it to anyone. Additionally, I believe these are milled to order, so this is not a rush item, I think it took three weeks to arrive which was fine for our timeline.

Pictures on Amazon showed what looked like several layer shutters which is a nice look. There is only one layer and one little slit vent. This will definitely cause your house to be much hotter as it doesn’t allow much air flow. Very disappointed I waited almost 2 weeks for delivery.

I ordered vertical, not horizontal gable vents. Part of the description shows 28” wide, 16”high, 1” thick. The images show 28” tall, 16” wide. Why such a confusing display? Horizontal is not what the product picture shows. These are not usable!
