This was a bit of a trick to paint (which you absolutely must do), but it looks great. It states to use glue caulk around the entire under edge, but we had to have our gutter guys install it quickly at the end of the day. They only put in four screws, so we shall see how that goes. If you are installing it on the side of the house that gets the most weather impact, I suggest you make the effort to do the caulk also. Ours is installed on the least impacted side, so we feel a little more confident it will be okay without it.

I got the 16" non-functional. I'm planning to put this on the front of a very plain manufactured home. It will be placed below the eave peak and above the window on the front of the house. It will add some interest and individuality and break up the home's boring exterior. It is well made and suits it purpose perfectly.

I didn't notice that this vent comes primed but has no finish coat. If there were directions in the box I didn't see them as I handed it to the roofer to put up and obviously he didn't look if there were any. So very shortly it started to peel and that's when I went back to the product description and saw that it should have been painted with a finish coat. Will have to have the done now. Annoying.

The non-functional Gable Vents were perfect to cover the old wooden ones that are always in need of painting due to deterioration. Even freshly painted they didn’t look very good. The new polyurethane ones are very smooth and with several coats of matching paint they look great. I believe it will be many years before they need a fresh coat of paint. When they do, it should be relatively easy since they won’t rot like the wood. They were easy to install and it was nice to have such a good selection of sizes - fit perfectly. I am very happy with this purchase and highly recommend them.

Bought this to replace our rotting wooden 24 inch round non-functional (ie: non-venting) decorative gable vent above our garage. Looked around town for one but found it (for the best price as well) on Amazon. The product is made of urethane...very lightweight. Disconcerting to some, but not an issue as it will be impervious to rot. No instructions with the product but they are available online. After removing the old gable vent and installing a new plywood backer, I chose to glue the new one in place with urethane compatible construction adhesive. I had to carefully trim the new one with a jig saw followed by some light hand sanding to get it to fit as the opening was not perfectly round. It went up easily and I simply caulked around it with urethane compatible caulk. While the product is primed at the factory, I chose to apply a coat of good quality latex exterior white paint. As you can see from the picture, it looks great. Highly recommended.

Very unhappy..... Paid to have it installed after 2 weeks all the paint peeled off it, it's is rubbish.
