I got two of these, and two cheapies.These worked until my kids snapped the band (understandable)(fixable).The cheapies knockoffs didn't even clamp on and were in-usable.Buy these quality made parts, the cheapies can't compare.

The EW is a must for the first time child skier. It keeps them from crossing their tips and makes it easy for them to make the “pizza” for slowing down. I can’t imagine trying to teach my 4yo without it. Definitely worth the price. That said, it’s not the most durable plastic and can break with aggressive use but I take the blame since we were taking jumps.

Unfortunately, our Edgie Wedgie broke with its first use with a 35-pound child on a very gentle bunny hill. Contacted producer, not seller, and they offered replacement if we shipped the product back with $1. Appreciate the replacement opportunity, but disappointed with our brief experience.

First time using, more than a month after purchase, one clamp slipped off the ski. Upon tightening the clamp itself snapped in half in my hand. I can only assume it was defective as I'm not that strong. Heard good things and was excited to use it. Oh well.

We got these for our six year son who is taking up skiing this year after last year snowboarding. The first two runs we tried without and he and I were miserable. I clamped them onto his skis for the next run and it made skiing so much better for him and in turn myself. Little ones just do not have enough leg strength to hold a wedge for the beginning skier, these allow them to get into the wedge to slow them down and stop without wishbone action.They do ruff up the base of the ski at the Rio where installed, but it’s just cosmetic and makes no difference in performance.

Great product. I recently used these with my grandkids, four and six-year-olds. They had never skied before. On the second day they were comfortable doing the beginner run on the chairlift. They are a great visual cue to help remind beginners to keep the wedge position, but as a bonus also restrict the tendency to cross skis. I've taught quite a lot of skiing before and wish I'd had access to these. It would have helped tremendously. Because we rented skis I brought some "Gorrilla" tape (like duct tape) with me and stuck a bit on the tip of the skis to ensure the screws did not do any damage. You need to occasionally retighten the screws because they will loosen. Highly recommend if you plan to teach beginners.

This was economical, easy to use, and very effective in helping my young child learn to ski. It did not damage the skis -- which had been one of my initial concerns. The only reason I do not give it five stars is that the "rubber band" is showing clear signs of wear/stress already, and I'm not sure how long it will last.
