Great collection of very easy duets! I only would have liked if they could have been two equal parts, and not one first violin and one accompanying violin, but still some great songs in here.

My children are 7 and 9 and have been playing for just under a year. There are a few songs they can both play both sections of, and plenty to challenge them down the road. Coordinating playing two different parts at the same time has proved to be a bit more of a challenge for them at this level of experience. If buying for younger kids I would look for something where both parts play a similar rhythm. We'll look forward to trying duets again in another 6 months.

The level of skill needed to play the various songs is very inconsistent. I assumed the first violin part to be harder than the second violin part. That it is. But the second violin part is truly easy violin on some songs and definitely not on others. Truly easy meaning the whole song consists of almost all whole notes with a few half notes thrown in. Definitely not meaning a song with eighth note, quick fingering, with accidentals. This should be divided into different books so that the person purchasing the books could utilize more of the book.

The melodies are good because they're simplified for beginner students. The duet parts are very boring though. If you're looking for a fun yet book, try the suzuki duets.

I was looking for a violin duet book where both sides were of an equal standard. With this book, one side is hard and the other very easy, so I returned it.

When I bought this book I didn't think it would be SO simple. Definitely for beginners and those who aren't good at reading complicated music.

I'm a beginner and this book totally fits my level. I has all the classics in an easier way. Duets are perfect to work with my teacher.
