This exceeded my expectations so far. It's exactly what my 7 year old grandson needed to learn how to grip & choke up on a bat. I struggled for a half hour to get it on kid’s bat. Not sure if it’s wider at the bottom than most, or I’m just bad at this type of thing. Tried dish soap, getting it warm in hot water first, prying it with a screwdriver. No dice. Eventually tried another approach. Setting it on the concrete ground and pushing the bat into it. It popped out and shot away the first few times but eventually that worked. Soap probably helped. It may also have helped that I slit one side down a bit, but I’m not sure, and no idea what effect that will have long term.

I'm one of those bat dads who goes crazy and buy the new bat every season some times 2 bats.. and every one of my kids bats has these.. they like it better on there I think it gives them the wider grip at the bottom they like.. they can be hard to get on but a drop of dish soap and slides on alot easier..

With the cost of composite bats, I have found that if you come across a deal on a bat you take it. That bat may be a touch long or heavy. This product causes the batter to choke up, allowing for better control. It's not ideal, but it does allow some flexibility when using a bat not matched to the size of he the player.

Just what the bat doctor ordered. Use it to help choke up on my softball bat and it works great. I have been using this product for many years. A bit tough to get on but follow the instructions and should be no problem.

This product serves its purpose as advertised. The only negative is that it is extremely difficult to get on. The bright side of this is that once it's on, it's never coming off - unless you use a blade to cut/rip it or something.This product gives you an automatic choke up on the bat, which gives you more bat control. If you're a guy who plays softball, and you're shorter than 5'9", I strongly recommend this product.Unfortunately, slow pitch softball bats are only made in 34 inches, but if you're a bit smaller than the average guy, 33 inches is more appropriate for you. This is where the choke grip comes in.
