I love these shoes but I did have to return them because they sizes run small. I would highly recommend these, they look so nice and are made with quality leather and if fit correctly would be so comfortable, I just recommend going up a half size when ordering.

I usually wear penny loafers but my many pairs of Bass Weejuns were all making my feet hurt, running around a TV studio all day. I wanted something more supportive. And comfortable. Like a slipper but with arch support, and something that I could get away with wearing to an office that doesn’t allow sneakers. These fit the bill. I’m usually an 8.5, got a 9 and they fit perfectly. Not much in the looks department, and I would never wear them to a concert or for a night out or anything, but they’ll do the trick for work. Color and material: I think the brown would probably look better than the tan - my tan shoes remind me of a baseball glove. I don’t know what kind of leather this is but it seems durable, a little shiny, and doesn’t really show creases or too many scuffs.

I have wide feet with high arch and instep. I have a hard time finding shoes that fit and don't hurt my feet. These ones are extremely comfortable right out of the box. They scuff easily, however, and I'm concerned about durability after reading some of the other reviews here. So far, so good, though. I'm thrilled with how good they feel on my feet, and happy to have snagged them when they were on sale for $55 CAD.Update: I loved the brown ones so much, I bought the same size in black. They’re too small. I had trouble squeezing my foot into them, and they’re painfully tight. The brown ones were perfect right out of the box.

This is a pair of sturdy and well-made shoes. My right foot is wider around the toes than my left, and the 8.5W fit as expected. The right shoe comfortably accommodated my need for extra room in the toe box, while the left shoe still fit securely. Usually, I require lace-up shoes to achieve that kind of balance, so I was pleased to find it in this pair!I ended up returning these shoes because they were just a bit too plain for me. Not that I'm flashy, but there's really not much style to these at all. Even though I need the extra width, I still want to appear at least mildly fashionable when I go to the trouble of wearing something other than my comfy sneakers.

I take a size 9 and ordered a size 9. A little snug but I'm sure they'll mold to my foot after wearing them for a bit. They are really comfortable and I'm really pleased with them so far.

I have always love this eastland “Newport” style boot. It is my all time favorite shoe and favorite boot for me. This is likely my 10th pair over 15 years. I Love love it when it’s new -clean, neat quality looking leather (tight at first) , but it looks good even in the corporate office... Once they break in and the leather gets a bit scarred up, I then have THE ultimate casual shoe/boot. The leather wears beautifully. When the boots get really, really old, they become my trusty garden/work boots. Can you tell I love these boots? Remember they are tight at first, but they have some kind of a comfy memory foam around the inside ankles and base that break in beautifully to fit your foot. I’ve never had blisters with these boots, even when they’re tight. I’ve also ordered a half size bigger, I find that they just end up being a bit loose in two years. but then at that point your using them as garden, garage boots and if you slip them off As you transition in and out of house, , it’s an easy removal!. I’d be devastated if they ever stopped carrying this design.

I have been purchasing these shoes for many years and buy them direct from the USA to a “temporary” US letterbox and then they are sent to Australia. So seeing Amazon.com.au had them and for cheaper than the USA price I thought I’d try them out. The shoes are exactly as previous pairs, the only issue at the moment is that they are a tad too firm. I will look at taking them to Mr. Minute to have them stretched just a wee bit. Overall I am happy with the convenience of being able to purchase from an Australian site.

This will be a slightly emotional review because once upon a time I really, really LOVED these shoes. I've probably had at least 10 pairs over the years. During winter months I wore them almost daily and in summer to work. They worked w/ jeans but equally worked with dress pants. Easy on and off in airport security lines was a major plus! Oh and they were comfy, oh so comfy. No break-in period needed. Best of all - they took a beating before they'd wear out to where even a shine didn't help. That's when I'd order a new pair. Best. Shoes. Ever!I'd worn them around the world, London, Hong Kong, and then came the new pair and my trip to Japan ... and the failure. Now I had noticed the pair before this one wasn't up to quite the same quality. They didn't seem to last as long and like others who have reviewed this shoe the sole split in the end and I had to toss them. But I was in denial. They weren't quite as good but they were still my beloved Newports so I blindly ordered another pair.The pair arrived promptly (thanks to Prime!) and I put them right on. They seemed even worse than the last pair. However, we've been together so long - I just wasn't ready to admit Newport had changed. Then in Japan I had to admit it - it was time for me to say goodbye to Newport. Yes, on my wonderful honeymoon, to the amazing land of Japan I had a full shoe blow out. While out seeing the sites it started to rain. No problem, I thought, we have rain coats and an umbrella. But the more we walked the more my feet felt soaked. Odd, I though, these shoes are pretty solid. I sat down and realized BOTH SOLES HAD CRACKED. Both. At. the. same. time! (photos provided) So cutting the day short we returned to our hotel room and I said my final goodbye to my Newports and into the trash they went. I sat, dried my feet, toasted what Newports once were and vowed to never be fooled by Eastland again - no more Newports!My advice, don't get these. Eastland has decided to stop investing in the relationship. Find someone better, there's plenty of shoes in the sea.
