I bought this for my 2001 XJ. It includes the front flange to connect to the catalytic converter. Bonus! However, I did end up having to purchase the rear hanger separately (Walker 36377 Exhaust Hanger) unlike others, mine was original and was welded to the tailpipe.Edit: if your flange nuts are rusted out and unusable, replacement nuts are M10 -1.50Sound is close to stock.

I do like this exhaust system. The bends were true to the OEM pipe and it was a cinch to install. Only negative is that the stainless steel tip (or is it chrome? Not sure) is showing signs of oxidation only 24 hours after installing it. Sure, it did rain all day yesterday when I broke her in, but I wouldn't expect rust so soon. Thinking either I'll dremel grind it off on the very tip of the tip or simply break out the reciprocating saw and put an aftermarket tip on there. Either way, this went on a blacked out Jeep and this is the ONLY non black part visible. Still, it does the job adequately and sounds fantastic paired with my Magnaflow High Flow Cat that I installed at the same time. I would call the sound this makes a medium growl at idle. You will feel much more acceleration and hear more of the glorious Jeep 4.0 motor in the 2K-3K RPM range. At least, that's my experience. YMMV.I would probably buy this again if I needed to, but I live in Florida and this vehicle has never seen snow or the salt associated with northern winters so I doubt it will be necessary. 1998 Jeep XJ, RWD. Perfect fit.

Fits perfectly. Suprisingly, I was able to cut the clamps off the old muffler and slide it off. Slid this muffler on and the attached the tailpipe, attached to the hangers and tightened everything up.NOTE: When I purchased this, description noted you needed to purchase an additional hanger. I did not need this, that hanger was included in the kit, so I returned the extra one I bought separately. FYI.As far as performance/sound, it is quite a bit louder than stock. I did buy this to replace a rusted out system that had a hole just aft of the muffler. So how much louder is hard for me to say because I drove my XJ for two months with it really loud so this was much quieter than that. If want something similar to stock this could be a little too loud for you. Check out some of the videos on youtube of XJs with this setup. I really like the tone at idle, nice sound for an inline 6. Again because I had a hole in the tailpipe, the metal had bent and was restricting exhaust flow. So I gained a considerable amount of throttle response with this, but I was very much below stock performance levels to begin with. Again how much better than stock, hard to say exactly but I think even replace a stock system you will see performance gains. I definitely think it is worth this price over stock exhaust components and should last as long as anything not stainless steel. My system did have a slight burning smell for about the first 6-8 weeks after installation. Mostly the oils and coatings used it manufacturing burning off. It also doesn't help that there is a sticker on the tailpipe near the tip that I didn't remove and it kind of smoldered a little when the exhaust was hot, oh well. Might want to remove that first...

After 15 years the muffler on my 2000 Jeep Cherokee Limited finally gave up the ghost. I replaced it with this cat-back system, and I'm pretty pleased so far. I already had the vehicle ready when the box arrived, and Installation took all of fifteen minutes. The parts were packed well and everything arrived without damage. It got here pretty quick, too, even though I selected the free shipping option.Although the product image only shows two clamps it came with three - which is exactly what I needed for the job. The inlet on my old muffler snapped off right at the muffler so I still had the full length pipe from the cat, and the muffler fit it perfectly. The hanger on the front part of the tail pipe was in the correct location, and the included clamp for the rear hanger made it an easy install. I was a little worried that the straight tail piece might have issues with the trailer hitch, but it's angled slightly and it fit perfectly. As far as the sound... I think it's a bit louder than the stock muffler, and it's definitely got a rumble to it... which I kind of like. I've been running it for about a week without a muffler, and it's definitely a LOT more quiet than that! Being as old as it is, I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg on a cat-back system. This one was very reasonably priced, and it seems to do what it's supposed to do. I have no idea how long it will last, but for now I'm very pleased with it.

This kit actually fits 1993-2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ's, not 93-98 as the description above may say. It's a great basic replacement cat-back kit. It's no Borla, but you're not paying Borla prices either. The only parts that you may need that do not come with the kit are two metric 10mm 1.5 thread pitch bolts - and that is only if you have a 2000-2001 Cherokee. The exhaust sounds great, a little more bass to it, but no drone or rattles. Very easy install, removing the old rusty exhaust is always the hardest part. One other helpful note - if you have to replace any of the exhaust hangers on your Cherokee due to rust (the rear one in particular), they can be hard to find outside of a Jeep dealer. NAPA tends to carry them however.
