Typically solid DW product - I bought the 2-leg extended footboard model. On my carpeted floor, rocks around a lot unless I push the 2 legs down so far that the upright tube is actually leaning towards me at an angle of about 5 degrees. I have a DW 3000 on the same floor that doesn't have that issue. My major issue is the angle of the footboard - it is too acute. It sits up closer to 45 degrees from the floor than other pedals I've owned and therefore is not parallel to my left-side double bass pedal (older model DW7000.) As far as I can tell, the only way to lower the angle of the footboard is to turn the knurled wheel that adjusts the spring tension until it hits the cams. The wheel physically lowers as you tighten it, presumably stretching the spring and making it stiffer. The wheel eventually impacts the top of the two little chains running over the cams, which then restricts the travel of the footpedal. You can determine the higher limit of the footpedal by how low you spin the wheel. This means that the footpedal angle can only be lowered by drastically tightening the spring. My older DW pedals have holes in the cams where you can adjust the lengths of the chains, allowing for fine adjustment of the pedal angle. Cams on the 9500 hi hat have one hole - no adjustment of chain length; they are already as long as they can be set. Unless I'm missing something here. If I've got it wrong, please tell me as I can't return this hihat stand and want to love it.I'm a big fan of DW pedals. This surprised me. Honestly, take a look at the functionality of Pearl's top of the line hi hat and consider that it is cheaper, too.

Nested this between my double pedals so I could get my hi-hats closer to my snare. Works perfectly and doesn’t wobble around at all. I debated removing a leg from my 3-leg DW 5000 hh stand instead buying this 2-leg 9000, but after comparing the leg spacing in person, I’m glad I did not do that! It’s worth the money to get this 2-leg stand if you want stability. The extended footboard is also clutch (pun intended).

Bought the XF to match the XF footboard of the 9000 double pedal. Expensive for a HH stand, yes. But is 100% worth the premium price. This thing is built like a tank. After playing years on a lower end iron cobra stand, it's hard to compare this DW to that. Now I understand why DW has a rep for top quality hardware.
