I’ve been rebuilding the small toolbox that I keep in my trunk, as my wife has “borrowed” too many items that will be found by archaeologists in odd locations years from now. I saw this wrench set and was intrigued. (I’ve not bought ratcheting wrenches since 2008, so I’m not up-to-date on what’s popular.)These wrenches are of excellent quality and work really well. The machining is nice, the ratcheting mechanism feels solid as a rock, and the switch levers are crisp. These smell wrenches have the same “heft” as my usual Craftsman tools, not that “whatever metal happened to be available” feel that one frequently encounters in inexpensive tools.I felt like an idiot, as I played with one of the wrenches for a sold 30 seconds trying to figure out how the adjustable mechanism works. Then, I realized that the box end changed diameter halfway through. (i.e., the thickness of the box end is 0.80” with 0.40” being devoted to each size. This allows two wrenches to cover the four most common sizes. Clever. If you’re a hardcore mechanic, etc., buy hardcore tools. For ordinary mortals, these wrenches work really well and I expect to get years of service from them. Overall, I definitely recommend this item and am going to see if DURATECH offers other sizes to complete my toolbox.

I'm by no means a mechanic but it seems like I'm always fixing something around the house or working on one of the cars. When I need a wrench, I typically have to grab a handful to find the one I need. These Duratech wrenches are pretty amazing. What seems like only two wrenches is actually eight with a built-in ratchet included. Before these arrived, I couldn't figure out how they were able to get four wrenches in one. The secret is that each end is divided into two sections so you can use either size just by flipping the wrench over. Yesterday I used these to replace a terminal connector on the end of a battery cable. The wrenches worked great. They include eight different SAE sizes. I plan to order the metric sizes as well.

These wrenches work well for bolt heads near the surface of the workpiece. For driving in very long bolts, they are less effective as the bolt head can easily slip through the open end of the wrench. It is difficult to stabilize the wrench and keep it in place in such cases. While they can save some space or weight compared to a conventional ratchet set, I would not consider them a full substitute for such tools.

This review is on the 4 in 1 double box end ratchet wrenches from DURATECH. The photos show details of the wrenches after unboxing. The listing provides a good overview of the features of these wrenches. They are quality manufactured with thick carbon steel that has a black electrophoresis plating for rust resistance which resembles a matte black finish. Each end of both wrenches has two sizes that equates to four sizes per wrench from 5/16” - 3/4”. The wrenches feature a reversible ratcheting function which allows for you to not have to remove it for tightening or loosening fasteners. The mechanism in each wrench rotates and engages smoothly when turning without any binding or looseness. I have found that DURATECH is a reputable brand when it comes to tools and highly recommended them!
