This drill bit does not drill, cut, bore, or otherwise penetrate wood. If I would have persisted it may have burned its way through is all I can say.

There's not a great deal to write about a spade bit except that it functions as it should; so for the price I recommend it.

I can't see on the packaging where it states these are carbon-tipped drills. So, I'm guessing there's a mistake in the description. I'd bought these for the carbon toughness and wouldn't have bought them if I'd known they were plain drill bits.

Well, it's a drill bit. i will be grinding it into a spoon bit for pipe tobacco chamber drilling. Nothing to complain about at this point (pun not intended).
