Pricey, but should work for jewelry polishing. Too bad there are no extra pads. Will see if that is a problem later. Too high priced to buy a new one when you need a new wheel.

I love that Dremel finally made an EZ Lock buffing wheel! It's a million times better than the cheep little wheels that attach via that silly screw thread post they give you. My only complaint about this buffing wheel is that the layers of cotton used are two few. The wheel should be twice as dense, otherwise it's great and behaves much like a table top buffing wheel would...only much smaller.

If you have the tool it works very well and makes it all get done sooner

I wanted to clean up my coin collection, so I decided to use this wheel, along with the red polish that Dremel sells. The first thing I noticed was that the coins were actually a lot brighter after the polishing. This bit was quite fast, and even at low speeds it could work quite quickly. However, after about 15 minutes of polishing I noticed that the sides of the bit were all black and the white circles were bending a lot. I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't very durable. Also, if you use it on detailed things like coins, you have to press quite hard to make sure all the areas are cleaned properly, and this is probably why the wheel didn't last very long. If you want to polish smooth surfaces like a plate, you might want to use the Dremel 429 (http://www.amazon.com/Dremel-429-Polishing-Wheel-Diameter/dp/B00004UDHC).

I absolutely love these do-dads. They have a decent longevity rate, they remain secure to the mandrel without possibility of flying off anywhere, and they sure are convenient. I use them on metal for the custom work I do with straight razors and knives.

Dremel-made products are still of excellent quality. Shipping was fast and item well packed. Works will with new battery-powered dremel tool. EZ lock feature is very helpful and faster for those of us starting to get arthritis in our hands.
