Trunk looks great and has more room then some other which was the reason we went with this one.Cost is also good in comparison with some others as well.The big draw back is that it is hard to open. The latch hooks over and can be tough to pull over and off.We bought these for my 9 years old twins. We are sending them to a camp. Nervous now that they are going to need assistance to open each time they choose to latch it closed. Boo!

Trunks are nice looking, I ordered two and both arrived in an undamaged box , but both trunks had minor dings and scratches. I tend to believe they were shipped that way from mfg.

Purchased this chest for our son going to college, something to put important items and be able to lock. Opened night before son leaves for college, it was defective. Hard to open. Left lock would not line up and lock properly. Due to non alignment, hole to put padlock through was too small. Thus it didn't serve the purpose it was for. We never got to use it esp for its original purpose: secure and lock items! Amazon allowed originally to return with full refund at zero cost drop off at location which suddenly disappeared. Now Amazon is directing us to seller, who wants the return shipping at our expense ( a big item will horrendous shipping cost, likely will cost more than half its cost) subject to their return policy; thus, discouraging the return and refund. Very surprised and disappointed with Amazon removing the original return option Full Refund at zero shipping cost!!!!

Great, sturdy trunk. This worked great as a high school grad gift for my son who will be headed off to boot camp in October. I wanted him to have something at home to put his memorabilia in when he left that rodents can't get into when it's in storage.I won't knock it down a star because I'm really happy with it overall, but sometimes the lid doesn't line up perfectly with the bottom and closing it takes a little more effort. I would still purchase again if I needed another trunk!

We've only just received two trunks with which to send our kids to camp, but thus far these trunks seem like a great value. Though only $99, the VIN Armored Trunk - Rouge Destination appears comparable to other trunks priced between $199 - $239. Moreover, it's dimensions are nearly identical to it's more traditional competitors. While it lacks the upper tray found in more expensive trunks, it includes harty, inset, inline skate-style wheels. It's appealing styling is more modern and industrial than a traditional footlocker. It's rugged construction seems reminiscent of travel cases used to ship sound and lighting equipment between concerts or trade shows. I'm nearly 200lbs, and the Rouge is sturdy enough to easily support my weight sitting on it. The case seems constructed of thick, external panels of scratch-resisted, molded vinyl with a pistol grip texture riveted to a frame of aluminum and steel. I particularly like the handles on each side. Unlike the leather or vinyl straps riveted to the sides of more traditional footlockers, this case has recessed, flip-up, steel handles with rubber grips that automatically spring back flush with the case sides. Moreover, it has silver dollar-sized rubber, non-skid feet on the bottom. I'll add an update after our cases return from summer camp. However, right now, I have to say the VIN Rouge Destination trunk appears to be an excellent and affordable summer camp footlocker!We've only just received two trunks with which to send our kids to camp, but thus far these trunks seem like a great value.
