Installed in the plug on my high side of the a/c and it worked perfectly, not more leak!

My truck A/C's low pressure side had a plastic cover on it which kept cracking and breaking apart. Worse still was the fact that the center of that plastic would be stuck in the connection around the Schrader valve. This is a great solution to keeping the freon sealed inside the system.

Father-in-law vehicle had a leak on the high side, and the line would could over 200$ for new. Being an older vehicle I was trying to avoid and save as much as possible. This stopped the leak and save decent amount of money. Would definitely buy again !

Dorman cap will screw into both the low and high pressure ports on my 1996 GM truck, unfortunately it did not seal the leak on my high pressure port. I called Dorman support though friendly they didn't have an explanation for me.Update Looking into the port with some bright lighting there appears to be some scoring on the sealing surfaces. Not Dorman's fault, hence the update.

The high pressure port was visibly leaking on my 08 Trailblazer. I screwed the plug on and tighten it with a wrench (it is brass compression type of fitting, it doesnt need thread tape). After soaking the fitting with Windex, there were no more bubbles. I have no idea how much it would have cost to replace the high pressure port/line, now I don't have to find out.

The high side service port had a slow leak. This cap sealed it up and I haven't had any problems since.

This is a GREAT $5 Dorman solution to a stupid GM design flaw. At some point, GM redesigned the seal for the AC high side service port. Stupid thing is, the service port rubber seal fails before any other part of the system. Meaning, the AC in our Tahoe failed to cool properly due to a refrigerant leak in the system. This service port seal is what failed. It had never been used before. No AC work had ever been done, no hoses/gauges ever hooked up, never needed to be. When a service port fails, its like a tool breaking before you use it.I was having to add a can of R134, through the low pressure service port, a couple times a season before I figured this out.A simple test is to put a small neck balloon over the port, if it inflates, refrigerant is leaking. This Dorman brass plug screws into the aluminum service port (in place of the plastic cap) and provides a tight seal. I did put a small amount a silicon grease on the plug to help it seat, but this was me.The baloon test showed no leakage with the plug installed. And the plug is removable if service on the system is required.
