I replaced the OEM intake hose on my 06 Honda Accord 2.4L with this one from DORMAN. The material is more flexible and quite literally took minutes to complete the job. No specialized tools needed.

The trick is to remove the entire air filter cover so you have it loose to work on a bench. To do this you will have to disconnect the Mass Air Flow Sensor from the connector and unclip the wire harness that holds it to the cover. Use a small screwdriver to push the clips (top and bottom) in and gently pull the wire clip off. Once the cover is free, remove all the factory clamps and transfer all of them to the Dorman except the spring side. Use a needle nose pliers and crimp one end of the spring so it completes a loop. Loop the other end and link it together and crimp that side too. Now slide the spring over the fitting. It'll take some bending of the rubber but it'll roll into the groove. Now get a small amount of silicone grease (silicone is rubber safe) and apply to the air box and rubber. Now slide the rubber over the air box. It will be tight but it took no more than 3 minutes for me. Once connected, fit the cover back over the filter (replace filter while you are at it) and put the other fittings on the hose. Reattach the clamps and then finally slide the end to the engine and screw the clamp down. It took me 30 minutes to complete the entire job.

It wasn’t in its original packaging and was missing the spring fastener. It seems like someone returned it and kept the spring and then they reshipped it to me. After I installed it in my car I reused the old spring fastener. It works but put I shouldn’t have to put up with second rate service.

This works for a 2003 Accord. I did not receive a spring, but used an existing hose clamp. Luckily, other reviews mentioned drilling a hole for a sensor in one of the punch outs. Once I did that - it fit great. 1/2 the price of an auto store - part seems to be working fine.

Buena pieza, solo que a comparacion de la original de Honda viene algo blanda

Great quality product and a perfect OEM replacement part. My only negative comment is concerning the spring clip for the end connecting to the air box. Very challenging to install and totally unnecessary. A sliding hose clamp like the one connecting the other end to the air intake would be a much better option.

It's an exact fit for 2004 Honda accord LE 4cl. I don't know about the quality yet, but it seems like a perfect quality. Worth of money.

Not bad for a replacement of the OEM.

I recently installed two of these Dorman air intake tubes. One on a 2004 Accord EX and the other on a 2006 Accord EX. Both are 4 cylinder models. This tube can be used on multiple car models. The 2004 Accord requires an air sensor on the throttle body end, so I had to drill out the rubber in the appropriate location. No big deal. The 2006 Accord did not require a sensor in that location so no modification was needed.Others have noted that the material is not as firm as the OEM version. That’s true. However, that is not to say that the tube is flimsy. It may very well hold up as well as the OEM. Time will tell. Some have pointed out that one end of the hose has a spring instead of a clamp like the original. Note that the OEM version now also uses a spring. Dorman does provide the spring. I found it easier to warm up the spring end of the tube with a hair dryer, connect the spring ends, and manipulate it on to the tube. I then put a little silicone lubricant on the inside edge of the tube so that it would, with a little effort, slide on to the the air box more easily. It may take a couple of tries but the spring will stretch and it will finally slide on.This same Dorman tube sells for just under $42.00 at a local parts store, so Amazon has a very good price. There are other brands of this tube found on Amazon sold by other vendors at suspiciously low prices. I would not trust them and they do not appear to come with the required spring. Dorman, on the other hand, is a known brand.

Why spend $100+ at a auto shop when you can buy it off amazon and fix it in five minutes! This fit my Honda Accord 2007 perfectly and is still going strong nearly a year after being installed.

It's fine and it works. However, it is not an exact OEM fit for two reasons: It is softer than OEM and it eliminates use of the factory clamp that attaches to the air box outlet and replaces it with a round spring that you have to install into a groove that is molded into the air box end.As far as the softer, more pliable rubber, that could either be because the OEM one is now 10 years old and the rubber has become hard and brittle (thus the cracking and failure of my OEM one at those bulging flexible ring areas) or it could be that it is made of thinner or softer material. Either way, I don;t see any problem with the softer material. It should not flex under vacuum, and of course Honda Accords are not boosted from the factory, so I see no issues.I DO NOT like the idea of replacing the nice factory metal clamp with the spring...the spring was a two-man, two plier affair to install it after the intake hose was installed. I looked at installing the spring on the intake hose BEFORE installation, but it was a tight fit as it was with a lot of friction...I used some windshield washer fluid as a lube to slip it on. WW fluid isn't really slippery, but it created just enough lubricity with the moisture to allow me to slip it on, and WW fluid is completely harmless to your intake / engine and is the same as methanol injection fluid used on diesels and boosted cars (it is methanol and purified water as long as you don't use the bug wash stuff, just use the plain blue stuff). I would buy one again if needed since it does the job and is cheap, but an OEM style one with proper clamps and without the cheesy spring would be easier to install. My photos show the new one as well as the OEM one (top) vs. the new one (bottom) so you can see the cheesy spring tensioner vs. the OEM metal clamp.
