This was an absolute nightmare of a job. Still haven't gotten it done. For me and my 1995 chevy g20 sportvan 5.7L - the bolts at the bottom of the manifold that the flange slips and tightens over, were fused to the unit. This dorman unit came with bolts to screw in by hand and then you can hand tighten w/ a 1/4 hex. Unfortunately they're not threaded deep enough to actually tighten the ****in flange down and stop the exhaust from leaking out of the flange. There's also springs which were not on my previous setup and there was no directions about where to install them so i tried to install them under the bolt to get more room to thread and press the flange into the lip and against the gasket at the rear end of the manifold... Funny this is where the issue that i've been rolling around on freezing cold concrete for 3 days trying to figure out is, because most people have problems getting the head bolts out or breaking them off. All that was a breeze for me after spraying everything down several times over the course of a couple days before i attempted to them out, and then letting it warm up to operating temp and then cooling down a bit before actually removing them. This flange situation is pissing me off though. Why stop the thread on the bolts?!?! i guess to designate where the springs go but the whole thing has just been a nightmare.

Initial review:1994 c1500 5.0L gasSeems to fit okay, gaskets felt really cheap. Didn't come with manifold to block bolts.5,000km: already leaking from y-pipe connection, I figure it's from the extremely cheap quality gasket. Other then that is good for the price.

I bought both the driver and passenger side of the Dorman manifolds because mine had studs that had rusted into nothing. Instead of torching them and trying to get the studs out I saved my time (money) and just bought replacements. These are made in China, but they're cast iron, so I doubt I'll ever have an issue. The mounting surfaces are milled nicely. No exhaust leaks after I got them installed. I used 26 ft/lb torque for my bolts. For whatever reason my driver side manifold came with graphite gaskets for both sides, but the passenger side manifold didn't come with any. Just something to note. The donut, studs, springs, and nuts are all good. By the time you buy that stuff piecemeal at your local auto parts store you're pretty much half way to the price of whole manifolds on Amazon.I did use my die grinder to open up the port that has that big plug in it. I didn't need it for my 1989 Chevy for emissions stuff so I worked around it and made the port as big as possible.

Fits just like it should, seems to be quality. Other reviews i read were either 5 star or 1 star. Mine seems good, but.... Mine was missing the studs, gaskets, nuts and springs. Luckily my local parts store had them on hand at a higher cost then Amazon but Amazon was very quick to make it right with me.

This manifold was bought along with the Dorman 674-156 for my 93 GMC K1500 which basically needed new exhaust from to back. I decided to go with the Dorman because of price, as well as the lifetime warranty. As of this review (12/11/15) it has been in use for 3 months. It installed well with no need for the manifold to head gasket (meaning the manifold was made straight).Time will tell how long this will hold up. If there are problems, hopefully Dorman stands behind it (which I've had good prior experiences). If problems arise, I will be back to update. Otherwise, no news is good news.
