Due to my experience with Dorman’s fairly poor track record with quality and longevity, I tried to find an OEM actuator, but they aren’t available. After looking at the other no name options with very questionable reviews, I begrudgingly went with this Dorman product.First thing to point out is while actuator’s design is different from OEM, the gearing, attachment points and connector location are the same.If you have a good set of tools, it should be fairly easy to swap the actuator.NOTE: The lower actuator on the driver’s (left) side controls WHERE the air goes. If you have dual air, the upper (harder to get to) actuator controls the TEMPERATURE of the air blowing into the cabin on the driver’s side. So if you’re having trouble with only cold air or only hot air on the driver’s (left) side, replace the upper actuator. If you’re having trouble with where the air is going, replace the lower actuator. If the passenger side is having temperature issues, replace the actuator on the passenger side. (BONUS NOTE: If you have single air control, the upper actuator on the driver’s side controls the temperature on BOTH sides.)As it’s a royal pain to see where the blend valve is positioned, I looked at where the old actuator was positioned when I removed it. Then, I connected the new actuator, turned on the car and the AC and SLOWLY adjusted the temperature a number of times until the actuator position closely matched the old actuator position. Once there, I turned off the car and installed the new actuator. It took a bit of tweaking to get it to seat properly, but I used my phone to take a picture and was able to line up the screw holes. After it was connected, I turned on the car and cycled the temperature full hot for 5 seconds, then slowly turned to full cold for 5 seconds. That recalibrates the system and helps you to verify it’s working properly.Overall, it only got 4 stars because of my poor experience with Dorman products. Time will tell if they finally made something that works as expected.

Hot air only on my passenger side and found I needed to replace the actuator. The replacement was in a 2006 Dodge Charger Daytona. I bought two as there are three in my car. So one was an extra in case one of the others malfunctioned. I actually found I had two out. These were perfect replacement fit. I just bought a third to just replace the all. In my car, 1 on passenger side and 2 on driver side. If you are doing the replacement yourself it is easier if you have a small ratchet set. Not a lot of room on either side especially if you are a big guy like me. Would recommend these as replacements. FYI, there are videos showing how to replace the actuators.

This product did work for my car. Calling my dealer and asking how much it was, the quote was $125. They suggested Dorman products and quoted their prices. I was grateful for that. Getting under the dash was a “B”, but in all I saved $175 between part price and labor.

I used this actuator as a replacement for the failed OEM actuators on my 2006 Chrysler 300C. It worked perfectly! The dealership wanted $85 each and these were only $25 each. I bought 4 of them, used two and have 2 in reserve. I highly recommend this item.

I got this for my 2005 Dodge Dakota. It uses 2 of these, one for the defrost and floor and another for the other vent selections. The 'other vent selections' is the one that I replaced.. Inexpensive compared to the dealer price and also dealer labor charge - dealer wanted to charge $1500 to take the dash apart and check other HVAC things, etc. etc... B#llSh%t!Luckily I just needed this.. Cramped to get under the dash but if you can manage it and get to the torx screws that hold the actuator in you're good to go. After removing your broken unit, connect the power to the new one and 'match up' the gearing on the new unit to be the same position as the gearing on the broken unit you just took out. That will make it EASY to slide in and then put screws back..
