we have 2 Aussiedoodles and one of them sheds daily (takes after his dad the Australian Shepard ) THis item has 2 sides. One is great for thinning out and removing hair and the other is ideal for matting (the other one) I was amazed on how much hair this removes. The dogs seem happier and cooler after we brush them. Easy to use and a great tool to have

If your dog already has matts and you hope to get them out with this, unless you have a VERY tolerant dog who will let you pull really hard on their fur, you'll need a different tool. I "borrowed" my sister's aussie for my review. She's got a lot of hair and swims every day. I was trying to brush in an area that actually isn't really even matted - but has small tangles all over. It would not pull through them at all without having to pull hard enough that she was going to get very upset with me. I tried working on an actually matt on my brother's golden and she was VERY unhappy with me. If you have matts, you'll need an actually matt cutting tool.That said.... Once I got out all of the little tangles on the aussie and was just raking for de-shedding, it was awesome! It pulled out SO much hair. It was amazing. So if you have a dog that just has a lot of hair that you need to get out the undercoat - I definitely recommend it.

I have had my share of pet brushes and this one is the real deal. I have a long-haired cat and my allergies have been horrible, so I needed a heavy duty brush to try and get this hair off of her. Let me tell you…the first picture is my first round of brushing her, the second picture is the second round. The rate of hair and the amount that came off is astounding. The brush rakes through the matted, clumpy hair and it is so easy to take off of the brush. This is a must-have. Go buy one now!

Very good for deshedding large dogs, just be mindful of the tangles. a little heavy and clunky to be using on a small breed, would only recommend for larger dogs as it is not as easy to maneuver around on smaller breeds.

I bought this tool to groom my Fluffy Frenchie. The longer part of the rake is excellent for shedding and tangles. Easy to clean and remove hair.
