Use this item for work, didn’t even last more than three months before the rubber ripped, how cheap! Thought this one would be tougher. Also, the tubing would keep coming loose after a month and would have to retighten every few days. Now worth your money if you are going to use it everyday

I got this (and a stethoscope, one of which is REQUIRED to use this) to check my blood pressure but more to periodically be sure my portable battery operated blood pressure machine was fairly accurate. I'm not a health care pro by any stretch.Using this was both educational and interesting, as well as providing good information about the ol' BP situation. It's a bit difficult to use on yourself without assistance, but it can be done with a little practice. You wrap the cuff part around your arm in the directed location, pump it up to well past your normal upper reading, then open the valve to slowly let the pressure out of the cuff. Right after opening the valve you put your stethoscope on the right place on your arm and listen, while watching the dial on the meter. At the point you start hearing steady sharp pulses, that is the upper number. As the pressure in the cuff drops, at one point the pulsing noise in the stethoscope goes away; where the meter is at that point is your lower number. Once you get a little practice you can do it like a pro. It's a lot easier to do on other people than yourself however. The meter itself is built like a tank and seems quite professional. I'm no expert but I can't see any problems with it so I'll give it a five star rating.

This is a solid 4-star trusted item when used as a standard blood pressure cuff, for taking somebody else's blood pressure-- wonderful for a traveling nurse, home healthcare worker, or in-house/family care provider. However, this is NOT suitable for one-handed use or self-use, and I'm not sure why that is implied and stated in the description. It loses a star for its marketing language. It is otherwise a standard 4-star cuff.

‘SFig-mo Man ah Mih-ter’ is a way to say the six syllable word sphygmomanometer. The cuff and dial together have a relatively low cost considering the high quality of materials and workmanship. Not inexpensive, but well worth the investment for a medical grade device. The cuff is easy to donn, operate, and remove. My experience so far indicates the cuff is well made, the bulb effectively inflates the cuff, the pressure relief valve is easy to control, and the dial gives accurate blood pressure readings. The device can be a bit cumbersome to operate alone. Practice makes perfect. The cuff works well to measure blood pressure in the brachial artery. As the cuff air is released, I use a stethoscope (not included) on the arm beneath the cuff to listen for when the heart pounding sound starts and stops to see on the dial the systolic and diastolic blood pressure readings. The readings I get with the cuff and dial correlate with reliable digital blood pressure meters I own.

This sphygmomanometer is very accurate and is easy to use. The cuff fits nicely with a variety of arm sizes and does not come off easily. The display is easy to read and provides accurate results. Everything is well made and this helps me to monitor blood pressure anytime I need to for my family members.

I got this and a stethoscope because I just didn't trust the readings from the battery-powered machines. Doing it the old-fashioned way is teaching me about how it's being measured, and I trust it. I've never done this before, so it took a little practice, but now it's quick and easy.

Old-fashioned blood pressure cuff. No digital readout, history memory, Wi-Fi, or ability to upload to your PC, but sturdier and I bet more accurate than the consumer devices that have all that. Easy to use one-handed; dial is integrated with pump. You need to listen or watch for when the bumping starts and stops to get the systolic and diastolic readings.

It's easy to use, even one-handed, which is great for quick checks at home or in a busy setting. The cuff fits a range of arm sizes comfortably, and the readings are precise, so no guesswork. I like that it inflates and deflates quickly, making the process smooth. Plus, it feels durable, with no issues like air leaks. I got so sick of buying the top-of-the-line electronic cuffs only to see how inaccurate or inconsistent they were. I brought most of those cuffs to my doctor who took manual readings to compare the accuracy, and every single one of those cuffs was either inaccurate or inconsistent. He suggested that I learn how to take my own blood pressure using a manual cuff so that it's accurate.
