It's very cute, does look like a book. There is a piece on the lock that was laying in the box, I'm not sure if it is broken. The lock wasn't attached to the book. I was able to reattach it, so I think its ok (?) I'm not sure if I want to return it yet.

Perfect for what I needed it for. Needed an extra layer of security in my current living situation, this fits a moleskin notebook and other assorted items quite well. Probably not disaster safe, but definitely snoop proof. The only thing I don't like is the sides of the book- where the paper would be- are cheap-looking, white plastic with ridges- like fake paper. Honestly doesn't take away from it since that part is hidden on the bookshelf, just a little cheap looking to me. Doesn't take away from the functionality of it. Lock functions fine. All in all, not the fort knox of personal safes, but great for sneaky, boundry-issue-having roommates!
