About this item

  • Bidirectional Switch:can effectively trip in the event of a short circuit on both the supply side and the load side, preventing overheating or fire risks.
  • High-Capacity DC Circuit Breaker: Designed for heavy-duty applications, this 160 Amp DC circuit breaker provides reliable overload and short-circuit protection, ensuring safe operation of your electrical systems.
  • Thermal Magnetic Trip:Equipped with advanced thermal magnetic trip technology, this breaker offers precise protection against circuit overloads and short circuits, making it ideal for high-power DC systems.
  • Silver Contacts:Features 50% silver in moving contacts and 85% silver in stationary contacts, ensuring superior conductivity, durability, and resistance to wear and corrosion.
  • High Voltage & Breaking Capacity:Operates at a working voltage of 1500V, with a short-circuit breaking capacity of 20kA at 1500V. Perfect for demanding applications like solar panels, UPS systems, and datacenters.
  • Versatile & Easy to Install:Suitable for a wide range of DC applications, including photovoltaic systems, batteries, RVs, marine equipment, and trucks. Mounts easily on panels with screws (size: 125MM x 250MM x 170MM) for secure installation.

Solid construction and good customer support. (Re-engineering on my home solar). Was able to exchange this size for their 200 AMP model.

directionality. Is this a bi-directional switch or will it only trip if the load side is shorted. No way to know as no paperwork discloses this, the listing does not disclose this. The directional ones catch fire if it shorts on the opposite side of the switch. If NOT bidirectional Scenario 1: The Inverter (load side) shorts, breaker trips as designed. If NOT bidirectional Scenario 2: The batteries ("supply side") shorts, The current overheats the contact point, does not trip, and the breaker catches on fire. Non-bidirectional breakers banned in Australia after many house fires when battery shorts. I also had to install breakers on each battery to guard against this as I have no way to test this breaker without risking the $117 purchase price.

Difficult to mount on a flat surface, it came missing a nut. It is near impossible to fit 4/0 battery head

This is a large, heavy-duty circuit breaker. I believe they have a newer, white version that is a bit heavier. However, I have no reason to believe this would not trip under surge. Thanks.

I purchased the 500 amp version for a solar installation with a large inverter. This unit is extremely well made and very robust.

I picked this up to use on a battery for my off-grid solar install. The breaker appears to be very nice - I'd just like to see a bit better packaging from the manufacturer. When mine arrived the Amazon packaging was in great shape but the switch on the breaker had obviously worn through the original manufacturer's packaging in transit and had been taped over at some point before it got to Amazon's shipping.
