  • 【Microprocessor Controlled】2 in 1 satellite and TV signal finder is microprocessor controlled, making it very reliable and accurate. Compact and lightweight, easy to use.
  • 【Clearer LCD Display】Digital LCD screen displays signal strength graphically, with backlight to enhance reading experience greatly; clear to read no matter in the day or at night.
  • 【Sensitive and Accurate】It's very sensitive and can detect the weakest of signals; strong incoming signals (power full satellite, big dishes, BVB-T Antenna, TV antenna) can easily be attenuated for better readout.
  • 【Better Signal with high Buzzer Tone】It can also present pitchs tones on a buzzer; the higher tone, the better signal.
  • 【Compass Function】Humanized design, with compass function for reference purposes.

Product Description

How to use the star finder:

  • 1. Antenna, cable. Star finder, set-top box, TV. Connection operation
  • 1. Connect the side of the star finder marked "Satellite" to the antenna tuner, connect the other side marked "Receiver" to the receiver, and turn on the receiver and the TV.
  • 2. After the receiver is turned on, the voltage supplied by the receiver is 13-18V. Check that the star finder screen is on. If the light is on, it means that the star finder is working normally.
  • 3. Set the data of the star to be received in the receiver (including local oscillator frequency, downlink frequency, symbol rate, polarization, etc.) and turn on the signal strength and signal quality cursor status.
  • 4. Adjust the knob on the side of the star finder counterclockwise to the maximum (otherwise the signal will always be 0%).
  • 5. Adjust the azimuth and elevation of the antenna. When the LCD displays 99%, adjust the knob on the side to attenuate part of the received signal, and then adjust the azimuth, elevation and polarization of the LNB. Repeat several times until until the signal no longer increases.
  • 6. Combining with the satellite receiver to judge whether the signal is the required star signal. If so, remove the star finder and reconnect the receiver to the LNB; if the received signal is not the required star signal, repeat the above work.

common problem:

  • Q: Why does the LCD always display a number greater than 40%, but there is no signal.
  • Answer: 1. It is not the satellite signal that the user is looking for. Because the signal received by the star finder is only a preliminary judgment of whether there is a star in the direction of the antenna, instead of directly displaying the required signal on the dial of the star finder, it is only an auxiliary device for finding star signals.
  • 2. The polarization and focal length of the LNB are placed in the wrong position and need to be adjusted.
  • Question: The LCD always displays a number greater than 10% when the antenna is not adjusted
  • Answer: Check whether the front of the antenna is facing the building or the front is blocked. If there is no such phenomenon, it means that the gain of the LNB is too large at this time, and it is necessary to attenuate part of the signal output to the star finder.
  • Precautions:
  • 1. The star finder cannot identify the star signal that the user is looking for. Whenever there is a star signal input, the star finder will always display a signal. At this time, it can only be confirmed by inputting the signal quality cursor of the star parameters to be found from the star receiver.
  • 2. The Ku-band can be directly connected. When adjusting the star in the C-band, a power divider or a cable of about 100 meters must be connected in series between the star finder and the tuner to attenuate the signal, otherwise the star finder will self-excite and cause The numbers displayed on the LCD cannot be lowered.
  • 3. When facing the star between tall buildings or areas with strong interference, the star finder will also make a self-excited whistle, which will cause the numbers displayed on the LCD.

Did not do what I wanted it to do.. Did not seem to work. Could not get it to show a Signal strength, even coming straight off the output of an Amplifier... I do not recommend this unit. Seems to be Cheaply Made and is from China. I do not recommend this unit.. Pay more and get something that works! I feel Highly qualified to work on RF Projects. I am an Amateur Radio operator, A FCC Licensed Technician, and have work Avionics Repair in system and Bench. This product is not worth my time and I do not recommend it... It would be better as a toy for a 3 year old!

I bought this signal meter to hopefully improve my antenna signal strength. I had planned to use it to find the correct location for my antenna(s). However, the product did not work for me. I disconnected my working antenna and connected it to the "signal finder" in the 'antenna' connector. It was supposed to show the signal strength as I moved the antenna. It never registered. I changed the battery source and tried several connections to no avail. This product just does not work. The instructions are poor at best.Looking for a better solution.

The digital signal bar is for satellite only. LED indicators are for DVB-T. It is easy to use but not very precise to define the direction for the antenna. I will still recommend this product compare to others in similar price range.

Had two different units and neither of them worked as they should have. could not get a signal or digital display to work and returned both of them. not worth the time or money spent on it.
