This balance came nicely packed with no shipping damages. It did not include any calibration weights, nor did manual say what they supposed to be. When you press and hold "CAL" button for 5 seconds, the balance displays "CAL" and then the value of the calibration weight required. In my case it was 10000 g. Regardless what sellers may tell you all precision scales and balances must be properly calibrated at the place where they will be used. Shipping and ambient conditions will affect the accuracy, that is why calibration needs to be done as often as practical. Calibration weights shall be more accurate than the balance. For this balance you would need a Class 1 or F1 10 kg weight. Unfortunately such weight is way more expensive than this balance. The balance arrived out of calibration. It showed 1001 g for a precision 1000 weight, 2002 g for a 2000 g weight and so on. For a 20 kg measurement it would make a 20 g error. It is unacceptable for a balance with 0.1 g resolution. I have found a way to calibrate the balance and now it shows values close to reality. You need to think ahead of time how are you going to calibrate yours. You will need to do it often since calibration depends on ambient conditions.Pros:-It is accurate, relatively inexpensive, well constructed.-You can select any of the following units: g, ct, oz, ozt, lb, tol, dwt, mm, kg, %.- It comes with external power supply and stays on until you push the OFF button.-The display has a white backlight (it goes off if balance is not used for a couple of minutes).-It is quick and stable and automatically returns to 0 when it detects no load.-It has 4 leveling legs. The threads are loose, but I like it that way - easy to adjust.Cons:-There is no way to calibrate the balance unless you obtain a precision 10 kg calibration weight.- The balance is sensitive to ambient conditions and looses its calibration easily.-The manual is just one page with no pictures. The English language is half-decent, although there is a phrase I do not understand: "Please switch the balance pan according to the direction of hour and if you want to remove the pan. Do not lift up directly".Overall I feel It is a good purchase. The balance is very functional and a few drawbacks it has can be ignored.
