Garbage. Didn't survive first day of use. Split log and came out in two pieces. Finished the job with a traditional chisel style splitter.

Originally I wrote a review for another wedge in the same vein as this but now I've found the actual one (this one) that I bought a big box store for half of what it is here at the time of this writing.I love this thing. I wish I had started with this one and not the other wedges I had. The hardest part of using wedges is getting them started in my experience. If the wood doesn't have a large enough split from drying it can be a bear to get some of the chisel tip wedges going. Enter this BAMF. It came with a decent nail point on it but I ran a bastard file over it a few times and now have a pretty good nail point. I get it started with a three pound hammer and either finish it off with the maul or give the hammer to my 7 year old while I go split other things.NO IT DOES NOT GIVE YOU FOUR SPLITS.Most I've had was three and I'm pretty sure that was dumb luck. The rare occasion it doesn't fully split my round it's opened plenty of gap for me to get another wedge in and finish it off. I've split 1.5-2 cords in the last month and I wish I had had this from the beginning.TL;DRsharpen the point; beat the hell outta it
