I had to run a single line of 14-2 and splice it to two other lines because the terminals are stupidly small.Someone apparently thought, "you don't need bigger terminals, it's just 100 watts." That person doesn't understand the application. We use 14-2 and even 12-2 not for high current, but for low resistance across long distances! We may also run multiple lines to one source, rather than one much longer line, to manage the maximum voltage drop, thus ensuring more consistent brightness.Their 60-watt power supply has larger terminals!

This 12 V transformer replaced one that I had using a timer. This new one turns the garden lights on at dusk and all you have to do is select how many hours you want your garden lights to stay on after dusk. It’s so easy to use. One of the highlight features is that it has a remote sensor. I mount the transformer in my garage and I run the sensor wire through. a hole in the wall so that the sensor is placed outside and monitors the outside light conditions. Simply brilliant!!

As someone who's had their fair share of outdoor lighting projects, I found the DEWENWILS 100W Outdoor Low Voltage Transformer to be a reliable piece of equipment. The built-in timer and photocell sensor are a godsend, automatically adjusting the lights at dusk and dawn, which is a huge plus for energy savings and convenience. The IP68 weatherproof rating means it's held up well against the elements, a crucial factor considering the harsh weather we sometimes get. However, it's not without its flaws. Some users have reported that the timer can be a bit finicky to adjust, and I've experienced this myself. It's manageable but can be a tad frustrating when you're trying to set a specific lighting schedule. Also, while the transformer is generally robust, there have been a few instances of units failing prematurely, which seems to be a quality control issue.Overall, the DEWENWILS transformer has more positives than negatives. The ease of installation and the peace of mind it brings, knowing your outdoor lighting is taken care of, outweighs the occasional hiccup with the timer or the rare defect. If you're in the market for a transformer, and these potential issues don't deter you, I'd say it's a solid choice. Just make sure to purchase from a seller with a good return policy, just in case.

This is a direct replacement for an older unit I have, it still works but was getting pretty warm.1 zone @ 100w , easy to program.Wire mount too tight for spades on my 12AWG wire so I had to strip them. After 1 week it is cool to the touch and in Auto mode starts 20mins earlier than my old one.

So far this appears to be a high quality transformer after 18 mos. of continual nightly operation. Though, being black it gets extremely hot with our deck's southern-facing exposure, so I carefully spray-painted it white which had an immediate, positive impact and I feel it will extend the life of this transformer.

My old Malibu power supply was making noises and not as bright as it had been. This unit fixed not only that but having the remote sensor has the lights coming on then off at the right times. Works great and powers my 10 7 watt bulb system to great brightness. Also, the price was very reasonable.

I had to replace my 60W transformer since I added 8 more landscape lights to my garden and needed 24 more watts than my old transformer was rated for. This is the same brand as my 60W transformer and I've had no trouble with that one so this seems like a good replacement. It does have a separate light sensor which needs to be mounted on the wall and my old one didn't. Also, the wiring terminals were VERY small and narrow, much smaller than the terminals on the old transformer, and it took some time to get the landscape wiring attached firmly. It is very easy to set and works perfectly.

This is now the second transformer I’ve bought on Amazon that has failed in no time. My first one broke after six months, this one lasted one day. Next time I’m going to Home Depot to buy one in person that has an actual warranty and an actual store, to which I can return the product. Amazon, you need to do better about vetting what you allow people to sell on your website.

This is a nice, compact unit with a high quality plastic case, plus the remote photosensor gives you lots of installation flexibility. Time will tell what UV exposure does to the case, function buttons and LED screen. It’s very easy to use, but lacks the higher voltage output needed to compensate for the line loss on long wire runs. If you don’t need that, it’s a good value.

The only thing I didn't like about the transformer was that I had a hard time landing the 12-gauge wire at its terminals. If you're using 14 or 16-gauge wire, you should have no problem. Setup was simple. The "3" shown on the front of the transformer means that the lights will stay on for 3 hours after the attached light sensor tells the electronics to turn on the lights (or whatever else you have in mind). By scrolling up or down, you can adjust how long you want the system to be powered, or you can set it up so that it stays on in a low light condition without a time restriction. In my case, I had twelve 3-Watt path lights, so there's capacity remaining for more lights in the future. I was leery about how well the light sensor would work, but for the last 3 weeks, it's done great in detecting low-light conditions.
