I bought this set 3 years ago to replace on my mothers CR-V. The other day one of the ball joints broke. This car is owned and driven by an elderly lady. The car doesn't see any conditions that could not be described as mild. I contacted Detroit Axle and they refused to honor their "warranty". Detroit Axle stated that 3 years was outside of their warranty period!? This is the same experience another customer reported as well.

I bought these ball joints, to use the rubber boot, on a different brand of lower ball joints. After 2 years, an 1800 mile road trip, and 20000+ miles, these rubber boots held up, and I was able to re-use one of them for a ball joint installation. I've made sure to apply RTV on the upper part, to minimize risk of water getting into them. I never used the upper ring, as I was more likely to tear the boot. These boots are far superior to the OEMs.
