i'll be honest I'm a beginner on filming and photography, so most of the advanced features of this monitor I won't even tap on anywhere on the near future, however I needed da monitor because my camera's display is too small and the glare of the lights on the face makes really hard to see it, so a field monitor was life changing for framing and on-camera composition.Just keep in mind if you are beginner like me and don't know this things, but you will need to buy a power adapter or NP Batteries, I bought initially a power brick but I didn't like to have yet another cord around and the connector is a bit flimsy and kept a bad connection to the monitor, so I bought a pair NP Batteries kit, they are HUGE and heavy, but they work great and is now my go to option, so I highly recommend skip the power brick and spend a bit more and get the batteries if you don't shoot for too long periods. The monitor itself is lightweight, but feels flimsy and cheap and the mount is a bit nerve wrecking everytime i mount it with the battery on the back because feels it will break since it slightly bend, but so far so good and I ordered a metal cage and support for monitor that will hopefully give me more peace of mind. All in all I love it, it does check the boxes of my needs and I believe with care it may last for quite a while, just have in mind if you are new to this business, that you also have to consider on your budget those extras (the power source and maybe an upgraded mount), and yes I should have paid better attention to the product description, but I was caught off guard there.

Screen size is just right for it’s purpose. Works well, I’ve experienced no compatibility issues with it. Touch screen seems a little “touchy” but it works fine.

Review for Desview p5ii 5.5 Inch Field Monitor (ASIN B0B2QTKTN8)I like this little monitor and it's a good fit for my needs at a decent price. I'm really looking forward to using this with my new gimbal as my current 7" field monitor is too big and heavy. This monitor has all the features I need, especially focus peaking, and I'm sure some features I'll never or rarely use, but they're there if I need them. The included cold shoe mount works great, and I appreciate they included a hood. This is not a touch screen version, but that's fine by me... no greasy finger streaks all over the monitor.I'm happy it uses the Sony NP-F series of batteries. I already have several accessories that use that type of battery and I have several different sizes/capacities in my bag. I just got a couple of gigantic NP-F970 batteries which will be great for this monitor when I'm not so concerned with weight and where it would be convenient for a longer life before swapping out the battery. If you're going to need batteries for this monitor, this NP-F970 package with a quick charger is a good choice: https://amzn.to/3dZjWmhThere are a couple of things I think could use improving. Firstly, the buttons along the top are very difficult to read. Some white lettering would have really made a difference. Secondly, I don't have a lot of confidence in the velcro strip glued around the monitor to secure the included hood. I noticed it was coming away from the monitor in a few places. I pressed it back and it seems to be holding, but I do have my doubts about its longevity. OK, one more minor gripe... I wish it came with a case to keep everything safe and organized, but at this price point, I guess I can understand the omission.

Works well as an external 5.5" backup or secondary view monitor for your 1/4" camera. Has 2 mounting location for connecting with its HDMI input you can use a mini or micro or HDMI to HDMI cable to plug into this external monitor. Has an hdmi out and in for adding other external screens and connecting to your camera, a dc input and output for the same reason, to add other powered devices and daisy chain them together. It has a 3.5mm headset jack and a usb port. compatible with many cameras and it comes with a couple cold shoe brackets for mounting.

I really noticed a severe improvement when I started doing video more. I use this on my Sony a7rii. Set up was easy but more importantly I'm having to do less reshoots in the overall quality has improved significantly.

I have a Ninja V that I was using with my Sony FX3, but I decided that I don't have a need for the raw recording capacity of the Ninja V and wanted a lighter-weight field monitor for "running and gunning". The Desview P5II is cheaply made, especially when I compare it to my Ninja V, but that's not a fair comparison given that the P5II costs a quarter of the Ninja V; at this price point, the P5II is of a quality I would expect. At first I was afraid that 800 nits wouldn't be bright enough, but it is plenty bright enough indoors, and with the included sunshade, I have no issues using it in midday sunlight. While the included sunshade does the trick, it is rather cheap and affixes to the monitor housing with a thin strip of velcro, which has already begun to come of the housing (a touch of super glue should fix it fine). In terms of function, it does what I need it to do. I've not tried to load any luts into it, since the FX3 now allows you to load luts into the camera itself. The thing I dislike the most is the menu system. Since it's not a touch screen you have to use a couple of buttons on the unit to maneuver through the settings, which is fine, but the menu system itself, and how the buttons interact with it, is diabolical and frustrating. Overall, for a cheap field monitor, the P5II suits its purpose and is a fairly decent value proposition.
