The ring is slightly large, but it still works great! The skewers and metal ring is good quality metal and not easily bent.

I LOVE making kebabs of various kinds, and this is great for when i'm cooking for a crowd. i prefer the look of kebabs suspended over the fire, not laying on a grate, and this gets that done for me.

The ring seems a bit lightweight but the skewers are sturdy and are a good size. The notches on the side hold the skewers in place and turn for even cooking is worth it. My husband who is the grill master likes it but though it fits our Weber kettle grill well, he thinks it is a little small for 4 people. The two side skewers are great for extra vegetables so it works. I think storage can be an issue. I'm not sure we will keep it for long term. Great for two or three people who enjoy kabobs on a regular basis.

I realize this was designed for a round Weber grill, but I thought I'd give it a try on my fire pit and it worked great! I put shrimp kebabs on the ring, which was on top of my regular grate. Not only did the ring keep the shrimp and veggies off the grate, the flat skewers kept all the ingredients secured, but allowed turning in 90 degree segments via the grooves cut into the ring itself. Not only that, everything except the skewers stayed clean. This is a great addition to grilling or any kind that has a flat surface on which to mount the ring.

This made such a difference to making dinner!I love making skewers for family dinners but usually leave the grilling part to my husband. This time, I took it on because these skewers and the BBQ ring made the whole process much less intimidating. The hardest part was preparing all the food, grilling was a breeze! The solid ring is heavy and sturdy on my Weber 22 1/2 BBQ. It set right on top and stayed put.Usually I use wood skewers, I almost always forget to presoak them so they don't burn on the grill. Even though the wood skewers are much smaller than these giant metal spears, I always had trouble getting potatoes and onion to not break while skewing it... not anymore. Everything slid right on without any fuss - even little potatoes!!The skewers are big and take some finesse to maneuver while loading them up with raw chicken and veggies, but I used a large tray under everything and that made the whole process go smoothly. The loaded skewers fit securely in the notches. This feature makes them tricky to turn, as they cannot freely rotate, but the skewers stick out over the sides of the grill enough that they're still manageable. My food cooked evenly and really, really nicely. The end result was delicious! The clean up was SO MUCH EASIER than when we would grill the wood skewers on the grill. I can not wait to use these again!!10/10

***** update *******The other day I was using them again and my fire was medium hot. Nothing crazy, but maybe 6-7 out of 10 on what you can get out of a Solo Stove Bonfire. The paint on the side of this thing caught on fire. I'm not here for that. I don't want chemicals getting onto my food. I no longer trust this ring and it will be going in the trash. I can still use the stainless skewers over the solo stove anyway.I'm not a kebab expert so don't judge. In my picture you will see a few kebabs that I had over the flame when the fire was still a little too large.Once the coals got down to about 2-3 inches on the bottom, I was able to cook the kebabs without scorching the outside and having raw meat on the inside. It is kind of amusing how small the window of time is for a good kebab cooking on the solo stove, but it does cook up fast.I would say do not buy this if don't already have a solo stove. This is a nice way to get some more use out of it but not the worlds best way to do a kebab. Personally I think I would like to be able to turn my kebabs like a spit but this is designed to lock them in place. Maybe that's my naïveté showing.Overall build quality seemed good and it fit in my solo stove bonfire with the ring still in there. You can use it with or without the ring.

Seals over the 18in Weber.Feels very light weight. I am not convinced that it's going to hold up to higher heats.Skewers are sturdy. Most importantly, they are flat- which means food won't roll to it's heavier side and you can cook it evenly.Overall, not bad sub for the name brand. But probably not going to last year's.

So I own a Weber and I love grilling kababs. The round part is sufficient to do what it needs. The kabab skewers are a bit thin. The main con is that it accomodates 5 skewers, but because of the round shape, only the middle three are readily usable. The two outside ones are reduced in their capacity. Perhaps the outside skewers are best for veggies. I also cannot close the cover on my 22" Weber to allow the cover to fit flush with the bottom half. I like it a lot, but can only recommend it with reservations.
