After using yeti I was really annoyed with the software experience, both Mac and windows had issues she in general there are plenty of annoyances. Then I started using Ubuntu for zoom calls which made my yeti a paperweight. That's when I bought the deity vo-7u. It absolutely solved my problem since it's fully hardware controlled with no software. Gain/limiter and volume controls are fine (note limiter is enabled only after 50% of the gain level), monitoring works okay-ish.Voice is good. Even without any mods it's pretty rich. Background noise rejection is okay. I personally keep the mic fairly close to my mouth and keep the hardware gain around 65%. By having it above the keyboard it somewhat rejects the clicking but it's not magic.Analog output is noticably grainier than the digital out, for mic I can only use analog in for zoom so I don't know how it compares to digital, but with zoom default processing it's good.I also enjoy using it with my Android phone. I just connect it directly and it detects as a headphones with mic combo and worms amazing for calls. Very comfortable to have a decent hands free solution at my desk. The usb-c cable is a bit short but you can just use the usb-a with a cheap adapter or get your own cable. The stand is not something I would recommend, a top mount is much better for getting it closer to your mouth and rejects key presses. Just remember not to get it too close to your mouth, the hardware limiter is reasonable but it's better not to trigger it all the time, the audio will be noticable less crisp but in a weird way.All in all this is an easy recommendation for linux, Android users and windows / mac users who prefer not to install bloat and I in general have a decent built in limiter that will always work regardless of the software.

I was first a bit weary by some of the reviews however I am impressed by the sound quality. I get an extraordinarily smooth frequency with my voice and it doesn't have any high presence boost like other cheap mics. It feels like a Rode Podcaster or Procaster through their Aphex processing. As far as the mute button: I know many people were complaining about this (rightfully so) that it mutes the monitoring and the mic which is a problem for podcasters and streamers. Happily, I haven't encountered this issue. They may have fixed this before I purchased the mic. The only bummer is that it doesn't include a windscreen. While I did get it at a discount via prime day, at a $170 original price point with no windscreen is ridiculous. Mics at half this price include a windscreen.OVERALL this is still a great mic to buy in 2023.

Things I didn't like:-Short cables-mute button gets stuck-gain button has to be almost at @ max w/ pc sound devices levels turned to 100.What I like:-Looks good, not all lame smooth egg like boring Apple products.- has a light thingy you can change by pushing in knobs as buttons-you can unscrew front of mic guard to clean foam or tip.- great sound even before processing Filters- decent accessories

The mic is amazing for those who don’t want to get stuck with so much setup settings to get good quality, it directly gives you very good outcome out of the box..I’m just sad it doesn’t come with it’s own pop filter even if with extra priceI even tried to find it on Amazon but i couldn’t find it and from the official website it’s out of stock and even when it’s available the delivery only works for USA and Canada when I’m living in Dubai

The Deity VO-7U is an extremely capable microphone that can suit many uses. It would serve well for podcasts or live streaming, and works well as a microphone for TikTok. The included cables allow for just about any connection with either a PC via USB-A or USB-C and the same USB-C cable can be used to connect to an Android phone. You would need an adapter for using it with an iPhone. I bought this as a gift and it was very well received. They ran an initial test by posting a video to TikTok from their phone, and the audio quality of the microphone was extremely noticable, much better than previous videos made even using that same Samsung S22 Ultra. If you are interested in a microphone that can handle multiple use needs, this is definitely a good way to go. If you intend to use it at a desk or for live streaming, I would recommend the kit that includes the mic arm for a little bit more. The tripod kit is good if you move around or do more stuff from a phone.
