Its a good piece of work, like in the pictures. I like that for most of the joins they used pegs rather than screws, it's just an extra bit of thoughtfulness on the part of the maker. it does appear to be entirely teak. Be careful when you look at the competition, their descriptions typically say something like "teak and other wood," in which case you can be fairly certain that it will be mostly other wood and very little teak.A small odor dissipated after a couple of days, not a problem and not unexpected. Here is my advice: it is too well finished and lacquered, at least on top, which makes it a bit slippery. Remember this is being used in the shower. That can easily be improved. Maybe use less finish on top. Also the ribs are too well squared off and feel a little sharp on the feet, so the maker should have sanded the edges off slightly to make them more comfortably rounded, before finishing them. Also, since you have to stand the mats up on the side every time you're done with them so that they dry off completely, the makers should have put some Gorilla Grips or similar product on those contact points so that it won't fall over into the shower. Just a few words of advise to the maker of the teak mats.

Was scared that wood would crack over time but the stain or varnish or coating or whatever is solid. It’s beautiful.

This is quite an impressive piece! It is superbly crafted and beautifully finished! Heavy and sturdy, can hold a lot of weight, no problem. Had to return it, however, because it added too much height inside the bathtub, especially for the taller people in the house.
