It is wood, and looks pretty nice in the hall, I didn't paint it, just left it white and blends in good enough. Problem, the hanger that is screwed to the top to hang it is useless the way they attached it to the edge. You cannot just hang it to the screw that comes with the cover. I had to take the hanger off and use my knife and cut a groove in the wood and remount the hanger before I could hang it on the wall. Easy enough, but why did I pay what I did for the cover and then have to modify it to hang it. That's the only thing wrong with their design, they didn't think it through for the person buying it, or just didn't care more than likely.

This is definitely a neat looking chime cover box, but I had other intentions for it. This fits my Google Nest speaker perfectly! I always have issues with one of my dogs touching the top of my speaker and shutting the music off, but not anymore. I was apprehensive about how the speaker would sound, but I can't really tell a difference. Well made, came nicely packaged and looks great!

It's never even occurred to me to cover my ugly, yellowed, 1970s-era doorbell, but this cover is a great idea and a super easy fix! We didn't even attach it to the wall, but simply hung it on the doorbell chime box. It's made of a lightweight, somewhat flimsy wood, but it's fine for this use since no one will ever be looking at it close up.
